My weather station was reading 89.2F at 7.32 p.m. this evening. :phew:

Luckily I've got airconditioning. I shall turn it on now. :)

I had to fix one of ours this evening - our daughter managed to lose the adaptor fitting for the exhaust hose on her unit (the one that attaches it to the machine), so last night she had to make do with a pedestal fan that we had stored in the cupboard.... This fan had been sitting with a load of stuff piled against it, so the pole was a wee bit bent, but still operational; Mrs C moved it and left it on for the dog this morning, and by the time I got home it had shaken itself to death and was lying in two bits on the floor.

So, after an unsuccessful search for a replacement part (no hope, the company went bust four years ago), I decided to engineer my own solution. So, a plastic hole fitting from a tumble dryer hose kit, a cardboard box and some Gorilla tape was deployed and fashioned into a suitable adaptor, and the unit is working away upstairs as I type. Who said engineering skills were dead.....

I've got my air con on as well.I have the lounge window open:snork:

Actually just noticed on my photo that there is a cloud with rain drops coming out of its bum.I think something has gone wrong with my weather station:snork:

Mind you my front lawn is now starting to shrink away from the concrete path leading up to the front door.Never had that happen before:biggrin:

As an aside we bought Mr Kandys dad a fan for his room in the care home but after Mr Kandy had assembled it and turned it on it sounded like a jet engine so we have had to go and buy one of those tower ones with a remote control and get a refund for the other one.Mr Kandys sister said that when she rung her dad tonight he sounded breathless so I do hope this hot weather doesn't affect him too much as I know how us youngsters are suffering:old:

A mostly cloudless day with plenty of sunshine and a constantly rising and dropping breeze. 24C.

Strange colours in the sky this evening, thought at one point was going to have a thunderstorm, turned out to be a few drops of rain and back to a clear sky

Currently 65F and nice and cool. Luckily I work in an air conditioned office. I'm going to have to do copious amounts of watering again when I get home.

Luckily for us we have fixed units so the water drain is fed out through the wall (micro pipe) and the power and gas feeds go up through the loft and out the end wall to the compressors. That's why we can have ours on 'silent' mode as all the working machinery is outside. :blue thumb: We had ours fitted years ago and got a massive discount because it was the first domestic system that company was fitting. I had to do the making good as part of the deal.

The men did such a good job that all I had to do was plaster the walls where they had taken the pipes through so my work was hidden by the units (a good thing as my plastering is cr@p :heehee:). Where all the feeds went out of the end wall I just had to pump in the expanding foam stuff (I know all these technical terms :heehee:). Like an idiot,I didn't pump the stuff in until two days after they had finished and the mice had got in!
