@Sheal, the farmers are in full swing here making hay, they should get a good crop this year

 

I thought perhaps the farmers might be @Beckie76. There's been quite a north - south divide in the weather so far this year.

 

Some have good crops others have poor crops this year, Wheat and barley look good but if no rain then the berry wouldn't swell which will mean less tons to the acre, will die off than ripen
spring oats look good but straw is short

 

You are quite right @Jiffy. Hubby was talking to his farmer friend yesterday, he said he was going to spray the rape off this week so that will need combineing in 10 days time. We back on to a field, the farmer has peas in there this year, it's to combat the black grass, last year he grew wheat in there but it was mainly full of black grass so his crop was only good for animal feed.
We have so many tractors & trailers, bailers & sprayers around here at the moment, the farm workers are rushed of their feet, there's bails of hay all over the place. I like it though, it interests me a lot.

 

Sprays don't work on black grass now, some farmers are going back to the old days and leaving field fallow to get on top of it

He could have put it through a cleaner then over a gavity separator and that would have cleaned it out, but if the wheat wasn't or close to the speck for milling then it's not worth doing
