Raspberries are excellent this year. As is rhubarb (the clumps I split at completely the wrong time of year are surprisingly cropping well).

On the other hand my french beans have looked feak and weeble almost since day 1. Several pecked up I suspect by my blackbird ex-friend and the remainder pathetic. First time I've had a failure like this. Only difference is they are much richer and open soil than usual - is this the problem I'm thinking?

Sowed some more peas for the show as the snails had the lot away overnight :gaah:

Not going so well here, late start sowing, partly by choice and partly because I split my time between my mother's and here with Carol.

Pigeons, chickens and other feathered beasts decimated my early(ish) sowings which set me back a bit more.

Just when I thought I'd got on top of things, had my raised beds all planted up and everything starting to come along nicely, I got taken into hospital last month and underwent emergency hernia surgery! Now I'm not allowed to do much for a few more weeks! To compound matters, Carol goes in for major surgery this month!

      Maybe next year?

                    Loganberries are ripening up nicely
                    CIMG0033 (600x800).jpg

The tomatoes in the sink have suddenly shot up and are now looking to flower. Also in that sink are some dwarf beans and climbing beans. Had a handful from them, but gave those to the girls - plenty for them, but not enough (yet) for us.

The veg trug (planted seeds 30th June, 2015) is coming along nicely
                    CIMG0053 (800x600).jpg

You can see the gaps (above) where not *everything* I planted will reach maturity! But, what is growing, is looking healthy enough so far.

The "Salad Bar" I put up is quite successful with the salad leaves in it

But, the perpetual spinach "Salad Bar" is struggling a bit.

All experimental so I'm not worried by any failures, but thrilled to bits with any and all successes

What do you recommend for storing potatoes? The only convenient place for me is the kitchen cupboard so was thinking of drying them for a few days and then leave them in there.

Cool dark place. I'm guessing your kitchen may get quite humid though?
