          SuperStar
          Orange or orange-red Hybrid Tea.
          Registration name: Tanorstar
          Exhibition name: Tropicana
          Bred byMathias Tantau Jr(1912-2006
          (Germany, 1960).
          Introduced in United States by Jackson & Perkins Co in 1962 as 'Tropicana'.
          Hybrid Tea.
          Vermilion, salmon-pink undertones. Strong, fruity fragrance. 30 to 35 petals. Average diameter 5". Large, double (17-25 petals) bloom form. Blooms in flushes throughout the season.
          Height of 42" to 6' (105 to 185 cm). Width of 3' (90 cm).

              I will happily do a petal count tonight @wiseowl. As for the colour we've been at the house nearly twelve years now, it's always been that colour, the only change is the size of the flowers this year, they've never been so big! I can only think it was the pig manure I spread around the base of the rose. It smells gorgeous. :)

                Lovely roses Loli and Beckie. I think it's a good year for them all over the country, mine are excelling themselves too. :)

                Beckie, flowers tend to look different on everyone's computers, particularly roses, which is why Woo is asking for the precise colour details. He may be seeing something different to you. :)

                'Rob Roy' again but taken at night this time. The colour has improved on the last shot but it's still not the true deep red it should be. :doh:

                      It has Jenny and it feels like velvet too. A real old fashioned rose that has that deep sweet perfume too. :)
