What jobs are we doing in the Garden today 2015

Steady now

 

Summer garden stuff - book, cuppa, sunbed, generally enjoying the graft of the rest of the year.
Nowt else except watering.

 

Watering and deadheading and filling up the compost bin

Im def hot composting now as loads if steam comes out when i open the lid.

Yesterday i was running around getting the garden (and house) ready for hubby's birthday weekend. Watering, deadheading, topping up flower barrels with extra petunias, etc.

Now everyone's here (sadly one visitor arrived with bad heatstroke, having been very ill on the drive down from the Netherlands, so went straight to bed), I've been up 3 hours before anyone else starts to surface. So more deadheading, picked a fist-full of mangetout peas again,...and there is finally movement!! So hot though!!

 

Same as yesterday, minus the watering

 

Edged the lawn, deadheaded, trimmed the hedge, picked more sweet peas and moved all the plants out the greenhouse again

 

I'm so happy! I've cleared out my shed! I've sorted the pots into size order & put them in stack & store boxes! Swept the floor,, put up a shelf, organised the shelving I bought earlier in the year, hung up all my tools & equioment on their correct hocks & binned two bags of junk...mainly damaged pots etc. tomorrow is grass cutting & tidying up in the garden & the housework...the garden comes first this time of year!

 

Picked collard greens and leaf beet for dinner, watered watered watered.

Well, yesterday made a start on clearing the ground in our Rose garden having finally got rid of all the Willow branches.
Today, will finish that ready for laying the permeable membrane ( hopefully getting the gravel later in the week ).

Gonna give the Roses a good feed.
Saw the top off the Willow trunk ( should be ok to leave about 6" yeah ? ), and then do the holes in it and give it a nice drink of brushwood killer. Thanks for the tip there Spruce
