I was hoping to wander round the garden with hubby this morning, admiring what is looking good, mug of coffee in hand, as we discussed what looks good, needs changing, etc. but he's been called with a work problem, so is working for the next couple of hours ....

Sorry folks, I will have to bore you all instead!
    image.jpg
Introducing our pet monster... One courgette plant (started under a cloche, to get s month's head start) is already providing more courgettes than we can eat!

    image.jpg
The eye bed has had a tidy-up, as I've gathered the seeds from the opium poppies, and taken them out - the paper-dry leaves looked a little untidy. You can see how dry it has been here, by the state of my "grass"!

    image.jpg
The angle bed is looking good, if a little "wild" - my style of gardening!

    image.jpg
Mr Magpie has pulled out my plant labels - ideas on the thin spikey plant that is about to flower?

    image.jpg
....and the gorgeous white thing is phlox paniculata?

    image.jpg
Ummm my sour cherry seems to be more of an Opal plum - yumsk!!

    image.jpg
Operation Cover Drainpipe seems to be a success!!

        ...nope, there's more!!

        image.jpg
The collection of pots, flowers, and herbs (two bay trees and a pinapple sage) underneath the office window. Everyone wave at hubby!!

        image.jpg
The clematis tangutica seems to like the climbing arrangement, but the iceberg rose is a little less certain...

        image.jpg
My "Easter egg", groaning under the weight of tumbling toms! I mean it, it is actually sinking into the Tarmac!! It's been that hot here... I've also got beetroot (for the leaves), tom thumb lettuce, baby sweet peppers, basil, and Thai basil in here.

        image.jpg
The paler barrels had to have an emergency re-plant at the start of last week. I was hoping the violas would flower through the summer, but they struggled in the heat, so it was a quick trip to the local DIY for their best discount geraniums, bacopa cabana, plectranthus and osteospurnum - I think I rescued them?

        image.jpg
In case you were wondering what the metal sticks coming out of the barrels were, they are my two Passion flowers, which are giving a glorious show over the door.

        image.jpg
The island bed at the moment. About to have a major overhaul this autumn - the choke-berry tree is coming out (so weak, it can't even support a bird feeder, and doesn't really contribute enough), to be replaced by a medlar tree. Really excited about that! At the same time, the day lilies will be lifted and divided, as they are not really flowering much - I think they are over-crowded in there?

        image.jpg
The water barrel pond, looking good.

Umm, a few more, but this is it..!

          image.jpg
One of our yellow pear tomatoe plants, looks like there will be another to pick soon...

          image.jpg
On the other side, some of the chillies (need to pick the first Ring of Fire chillies soon) and the other yellow pear tomato, sharing the support of a honeysuckle)

          image.jpg
The patio bed, I'm really pleased with this, as it was only really done last summer. The screen of scrubby trees below offer just enough protection to allow the acer to flourish.

          image.jpg
"Don't forget this pot, Mum" - the cape fuchsia, looking good with a geranium and petunia.

          , image.jpg
The first time I have managed to get a fuchsia through the winter - looks quite happy there.

          image.jpg

...and I really must decide what permenant pot to put this fig in....

Dank u well, @Zigs. Het was graag gedaan... (Ik woon in Vlams Brabant, u weet?)

"Yumsk" a favourite word here too. First heard about 5 years ago, from the mouth of the son of an old friend. They were visiting from Australia, the friend having emigrated there, to marry his long-standing Australian girlfriend. Therefore, I don't know if it is an Auzzie term, of is of Wirral origins.

Thank you all for your comments. Much appreciated!
(Aren't you glad I spared you the orchard area, and the top of the garden, which is yet to be tackled?!)
