    Thanks everyone :D

sorry for late reply, been mad busy the last few days. Thought I'd show you guys a wee update as of tonight, 'twiggy' (cherry tree) has been potted and added to the balcony along with some half dead summer border plant plugs that came with him.

It looks lovely. A friend has a couple of window boxes on railing brackets, outside her flat. Last year she had trailing plants in it and it looked so pretty.

Thought I'd post a wee update. not a huge amount has changed but the garden is in bloom and the strawberrys were rescued from a greenfly infestation.

Sorry i missed this thread. Your balcony looks lovely.

My mate grew sweet peas in pots up her railings last year on her balcony and they looked brilliant

            Hi Bex,
It all looks great, it's really come on this last month. Give it a little while linger and it'll be stunning :)

                Thanks Anthony :)

Thanks Apple Blossom, I'm really chuffed but already at that stage where I wish I had a bit more room to play with. The landlord is due out shortly to fix a couple of things for me so I'm going to ask him if he will be ok with me putting up a couple of hangers for baskets etc.

Today I added a couple of tomato plants to the flock today, £3.50 each from asda and I got a little wilted pack of lettuce sprouts in the reduced isle at B&Q for 50p and planted them round the bottom of the tomato plants. I've raised the toms up off the floor to hopefully keep them away from things that might want to munch them before I can.

Thanks CJT :D There is something nice about eating things you have grown yourself.. And you're right home grown strawberries just taste like they used to when we were younger.

I used to have a little alpine strawberry at the house I grew up in.. I think in the 4yrs I had it I managed to rescue and eat one strawberry from it lol. I'll probably end up handing some of the tomatos out to other people/neighbours if I get lots. I never expected the fuchsia to flower this year, the plants seem to have taken on a triffid growth spurt lol.

                        Hi folks,

having a quiet night tonight so popped on to read all the updates and chatter and thought I would update my post aswell. Strawberries are getting bigger... just not fast enough lol. Oh and Twiggy the cherry twig HAS SPROUTED!! I'm just not sure if it is the cherry part or the root stock graft which is sprouting.

Hope you are all well and having a good weekend.

Lol thanks, it's one of the few wines I drink, called chocloate drop and tastes of cherrys and choc. My friends call my balcony my "beer garden" cos i'm usually out with a drink of a weekend lol.
