this was my first year growing broccoli, and I had a bumper crop from each plant.
however, I didn't realise I would get more heads once id harvested the first head ... and I pulled the plants up *smacks forehead and shouts d'oh!!*
it was only when I was looking at the rhs site that I realised ... *smacks forehead again*

so, as a learning curve for next year, once ive chopped off the first head, how long will it take for a side crop to grow and how many heads can I expect off one plant?

    thanks

(and smacks forehead once more for good measure)

oh dear Apple Blossom, its quite annoying isn't it!?
its only because as I was chopping up the stalks to put in the compost that I noticed several had tiny broccoli heads growing further down the stems in the crevice between stalk and leaf ...

That's really interesting I would never have thought that, when mine were ready like you I just pulled them all up, ate some and froze the rest.... a new learning!
