No, I know how to store them.:blue thumb:

I have so many packets, and I want to make a new system.

    Do I ....

    1. Just put them numerically?

    2. Put them in boxes specific to their needs, i.e. needs chitting or when
    to sow them?

    3. If they need stratifying or scarifying?

    Do you get my drift?

Any ideas. I have plenty of storage space, so that is not a problem.

I'm probably being boring but I just put mine in alphabetical. Then I sort them in to two piles, one for early ( winter/spring sowing ) and one for later sowing ( I do my perennials end of may into start if July).

Surely chitting, stratifying etc is all part of the sowing process, why would you keep them separate.

I have two boxes (those plastic ones those laundry capsules come in ... handy things for storage)
              1) Flowers
              2) Veg

The go into the relevant box in when-to-sow month order.
They get taken out every so often, read, drooled over, returned to box (often at the back)
They get taken out every so often, read and re-filed in when-to-sow month order.
They get taken out, weeded of those I *though* I might grow but no longer will and those I'm keeping shoved back in the box.

It is a system: of sorts

I store my seeds in two big cheek pouches
Actually, I have a nice wooden box in the depths of my garage.

Your poor Roses, how are they standing up if you've dug their roots out.
I hope you haven't glued them in the ground !

What are the roots to ? Couldn't you use a spot weedkiller and get rid if them all in one go?

Store somewhere dry, cool and dark. Some are in the fridge in a tupperware container with a silca gel packet just in case.

In my main box, organised by groups, veggies, flowers, ones I've already sown at one end, ones to be sown at the far end.

I keep a spreadsheet so I can plan when to sow and what the germination requirements are.
