What should I grow now in the same place after potatoes?

    Hi I grew some charlotte new potatoes in my veggie patch this year. Any ideas what I can grow next? I already got peas, runner beans, broad beans, garlic, onion and carrots.

    I usually follow on with leeks after early potatoes.

      Yes too late to sow leeks, you might find them in Garden centres though.

        If your going to plant leeks in that spot ,firm that ground,make 9inch depths with broom handle (approx 12inch apart) to pop them in and water them in to the top of the hole :blue thumb:

          I must try growing leeks next year ,it must be one of my favourite veggies :blue thumb:
          @JWK can you buy plugs , like onion sets ?

            My favourite too @HarryS ,I have about 80 planted already but ive got lots more to put in as my spuds come out,they may not turn out as big but they all help in stews & soup..yum :)

              I don't grow maincrop potatoes and like JWK I follow my early potatoes with leeks and never have a problem.

                I've always grown them from seed, they do need a long growing period, sown in March then transferred to a nursery bed until they are pencil thickness, then into their final positions as @joolz68 describes.

                I've seen them in garden Centres at this time of year though, they come as little plants, in bunches looking like spring onions or you can order them online:

                  I find them easy from seed :) i have lots to learn thou,especially about differant varieties .....so off topic @JWK would you like to start a leek thread ? :)
