The posts can still be dug out and be reset again, but it means it will be a bit more work to get them out but can be done, i've done it lots of times, i've but up lots of gates in my time and it's not hard to put posts in level first time around

It would, but if some one wanted to get something large out they just lift the gates off there linges

Some one not far from me had there garage brocken into, the double doors were locked and padlocked, but some one came along with a cordless drill and undun the screws that hold the hinges to the door posts and layed the doors on the ground a took the Motorbikes that were inside

even with the gates lock with a padlock some people can still take large items by taking the gates off there hinges
I've also see some people take items from a garage which was very hard to get into, but some one just went in through the roof

Some times we over look the simple things that make things easy for the bad people

This is a security concern in the horse world too - it's so common for thieves to lift the gates off, take a trailer or horsebox into the field and remove horses that the advice with field gates for a while now has been to turn the top hinge upside down so the gates won't lift off. Not that @merleworld is keeping a herd in the garden (that was my childhood dream - could easily fit a Shetland pony under the wooden climbing frame said 8 year old me :heehee:) but planters, water features and some plants have been targeted in my area in the past. Interesting reminder, thanks @Jiffy.

I like the Willow colour and think it was a good choice @merleworld but if you're really not keen could you go over it with a different colour maybe? Or too much hassle at this stage?

I do quite like it now but am going to give myself some time to get used to it before I decide one way or the other. As you said, easily enough painted over.
