Anyone know what this is??

Anyone have any idea what this guy is?

 

Looks like a very young ferrocactus.
Possibly F. emoryi..
If it is, it could look something like this in about 35yrs,

Could it be a Myrtillocactus Geometrizans, as to me it seems to be growing into a more columnar ribbed plant.

Just a suggestion

 

You could be right Anthony young plants,I find are very difficult to ID.

I was going by the central reddish hooked spine.
And was assuming the columnar effect was being caused by poor light.

 

I think Pete could be right I'll look up the other one and see some pics of it and compare tho

 

It has the same texture skin as Anthony's suggestion but the hooked spines are a definite feature

 

Agree, looks like a young Ferocactus.
Hard to identify at this stage.
