    A man in Yeovil called 999 to complain he had been chased by a badger, police have revealed.

    He told the operator he had "literally just got away" from the animal, which was "quite vicious" and would not stop chasing him.

    The call was released by Avon and Somerset Police hours after a man had dialled 999 to say his sandwich had been stolen by a seagull.

                    Seagulls are displaying more worrying behaviour though of late.

                    On a more common scale though, people frequently have their icecream or snack swooped on/taken by seagulls. I recall having a takeaway fish and chips by Brighton beach and didn't feel safe eating it there....Eventually I had to keep throwing them some batter (far away from me) to deter them from making a direct swoop on me.

                      They've learned to dive bomb ice creams in Lyme Regis too.
