Let as many as possible into the back of lorries going on the ferry
Then sail the ferry to Tunisia, thinking they have now arrived they jump out, and ferry sails home

Get a licence from Germany to build some 1940's type VW Happy Bus, Then give them a ride around the countryside, for a couple of hours sightseeing

I suppose it would be too much of a strain on the politicians' thought processes to approach it in a different way. This is only a first thought with not an in depth study by me. :noidea:

A lot of the attempted immigrants seem to speak pretty good English and seem quite bright.

Set up an immigration post in France and process everyone in the camps at Calais.

Use a filter system to, first, allow English speaking people through to the next level. Then check their abilities/qualifications for desirable ones. After all, we seem to be sadly lacking in certain skills and abilities as our people don't seem to be applying for the jobs.

Check the others to see whether they are genuine asylum seekers (in danger in their own countries). Allow those in that qualify.

Check those that don't have the language ability to see whether we need their skills, allow those in and give them an intensive language course.

Fly all the rest back to their own countries or another EU country that may be willing to take them. This would still be cheaper than the money spent trying to keep them out.

The current EU laws and processes make it difficult to just say no to immigration with no definite reason. Some sort of humanitarian feeling needs to be used by all member countries and a similar system could be used in all EU countries. Greece, Italy and Spain are getting it much worse than we are.

Our country is not overcrowded (although some towns/cities are) and useful, productive citizens should always be welcomed. With an ageing population and a lot of British people needing benefits we need a younger, productive population to pay the taxes and boost the economic situation in order to support us. :old:

They said on the local news that KCC is totally full of places taken up by unaccompanied child migrants.
The person interviewed said "cost is not the issue, its the well being of the child at stake", all said with great confidence, and presumably trying not to upset the PC brigade.

My thoughts are, we have thousands of elderly people who have paid in to the system thousands of pounds over their working lives, only to be told, we cant afford to look after you properly.
We even have some of our own kids that could do with a bit of help from the local authority, and we cant afford it.

Its the kind of thing that sticks in you throat just a bit.

This goes back to the argument about what we were told when we first started working. Our National Insurance Contributions were supposed to be going to pay our own pensions and welfare.

Somehow they seem to have spent it all on other things (I carefully haven't used the words 'wasted it' :heehee:) so now we need more youngsters to pay into the system to support us!

Thing is that if a company or an employer does the same thing its considered illegal.

          Raiding the pension fund etc.

Brits are happier getting benefits of £23k a year, than having to get up in the morning, prepare a lunch bag, and spend money travelling to work to pick fruit/slaughter chickens for £10k a year

The UK should cease paying benefits if a job is available (shovelling horse manure) before employing immigrants

Immigrants are welcome if they can bring a WANTED skill, Nurses/Doctors/Engineers etc and not be entitled to just come and live here on benefits and housing
They should also integrate and accept that to be British they need to conform, dress as British people, (not acceptable to walk around in bed sheets and flip flops or Burkas) Speak our language and not have interpreters free

                Noooo!!

I wonder how many other British migrants (like me, living and working abroad - and paying local taxes) are fighting back a deep depression, as we see our bolt-hole home being blocked by the action at the Tunnel. I hadn't realised how much I mentally rely on the ability to get home easily. We buy the block of 10 crossings, so if necessary, I can literally drive to the Tunnel, booking my crossing as I go... But with the current situation, I feel much more trapped here.

I remember a few years ago that British haulage drivers were complaining that foreign drivers were taking their jobs. It was at the same time as they were talking about the price of diesel on mainland Europe? Having travelled back and forth on a regular basis for many years, I can confirm that the lorries heading to Europe are often struggling pulling a heavy load, so are not going back empty!

Although some of my comments have been 'tongue in cheek' I haven't yet worked out the purpose of the 'camps' at Calais.

Are the French actually doing anything with them? If they're just allowing them to be on the site then it seems to imply that they expect, and want, them to come over here.

Are they processing them in any way?

All we hear are the politicians with their 'hype' and the news reports of people attempting to get here (either peacefully or aggressively). I haven't heard anything about what the French are actually doing!

My original suggestion, before the Scottish referendum, was, if Scotland seceded, to bus them all to Scotland :heehee:

All these immigrants have stamina, they can withstand strenuous conditions, physically and psycologically, sun rays, no food etc...Conditions that workers from more developed societies could never withstand and would never accept.

Why: if they really have to stay, and I UNDERLINE "IF", are these people not put to good use?

In some remote part of the country, with a little support, mainly shown how to fend for themselves...? Cultivate some land, build their own houses, produce something etc.

For them to be able to work in quiet and peace on firm land, without fear to be harmed, it is already a great achievement in itself, long before thinking money.

PS immigrants don't just come to UK, they are plentiful everywhere. (I originates from Italy, which is the first place where they land from Africa so, imagine) Some countries gave up complaining or the reporters don't drag it on the news again and again.

(On a similar note, I don't think that rich foreigners which just landed here should be allowed to build and buy whatever they please).

Dover Calais is the shortest and cheapest route..
So much stuff is taken over to Calais and dropped at distribution warehouses where the lorries hook up another trailer and bring it back to the UK and distribute its contents from there.
It's just the way it works and means lorries don't go deep into Europe because it's cheaper to do it that way..

You just can't move all this complex distribution network.

Mrs Sturgeon, (fish face Mk 2), said today that we should be offering all the so called migrants at Calais, a home.
So I agree, lets get them on the bus, or better still, run a ferry service from Calais to Aberdeen.

Good idea about sending them all to Scotland because once the rain and snow has seeped into their bones and the midges have eaten them all to death they will be begging to go back home:snork:

Strange that we managed to keep the Germans out of Blighty in the 2nd World War but we can't keep unarmed (apart from the Stanley knives) Migrants out in 2015:sad:

We will defeat them on the beaches, and it won't be quick it will be long and drawn out:mute:
