Hi, this tree had a climber wrapper round it, once I cut it off the tree looked bare but I quit like it!
As a total beginner I don't know what it is, please help?

That one is quite possibly Lonicera fragrantissima, a shrubby honeysuckle.

Yes, I've got winter-flowering honeysuckle bushes in my new garden that look like that. Make sure there are nutrients in the soil (e.g. use blood, fish and bone meal), trim into a nice shape and wait for winter. The flowers on mine aren't much to look at, but are very fragrant.

      Agree it is Lonicera sp.
Not one that actually twines or climbs...just a free standing straggly shrub.
One of the winter flowering ones such as Lonicera fragrantissima.
My concern is that by pruning it to shape now, it will loose all the flowers for coming winter/spring2016

Wonder if it might be better to wait ...after it flowers next year it could be hard pruned to a stump and will be flowering again by 2017.

Thank you. I will hold off pruning it for now as it is quite bold  I look forward to seeing how it will change :)
