Hi Guys/Gals Sorry to hassle again but these 3 Moneymaker images I've put up - do I need to prune anything off the top?

I've also surprised myself with the Strawberry plant I have and have produced another plant from the runner of mother plant :-) however do I need to cut the runner from the baby one I've grew?

    Thank you all.

Total rubbish for my tomatoes this year. So bad I have been ashamed to mention them. This is the best I have to offer guys. Three nice Roma.[IMG]

Hi Jane, you need to give them a feed every week with a liquid tomato fertilizer such as Tomorite.

Those look like side-shoots which should be nipped off from MoneyMaker.

Do you want the runner? If so root it first in some soil or compost before cutting it off.

Mine are struggling too, I blame the wide temp swings. We had a low of 7C on Thurs night then up to 25C next day.

Thanks JWK for advising. I do give them Tomorite but haven't for two weeks as in Newcastle we've been hammered with downpours and even the grow bag they are in are drenched. when you say side shoots you couldn't show me which part to chop off could you please. is it the middle bit of each one? I remove. I hate on keep asking but just learning :-)

Regarding the Strawberry plant I grew this smaller one from the mother plant and I waited till rooted then cut off days ago so its now a new plant in its own container. this new plant has grew a huge runner of its own - is it ok to just chop off without rooting that one also.

Side-shoots come from where the leaf branches from the main stem:
            Tom3.jpg

Difficult to see what is what on those other two photos. Don't remove the main growing tip yet - that's at the top of the main stem.

            No worries :)

If you want a bigger plant them chop off and throw away the new runner. If your aim is to get as many new plants as possible for next year then I'd recommend you root it first.

Whers the best place to store the runners once they've been chopped? @JWK I've got loads I need to cut off from the mother plants - I've pinned them all & now they have their own roots. Just not sure what or where to put them next? Would they be ok to put straight in the ground at allotment? @jane0o0 youre asking the questions i need the answers to, too. :dbgrtmb:
As for my tomatoes - well, theyre getting bigger - but no sign of ripening at all yet. Will post updated piccies later.

I am getting a bit concerned with mine now - very slow at forming fruits, and no sign of ripening of the ones that are formed. I can't have another massive chutney year.....

I picked the first of my Sungold yesterday, and although that compares with previous years, the fruits look smaller than usual. It's not going to be a good year, or so it seems at the moment. I'm tempted to close the greenhouse door, but that would just encourage botrytis.

Mine is closed, I got marmande in there and they are never going to reach size with the cool overnight temps

If I remember right, I found Marmande slow to ripen.
