The raised beds in the picture are south facing and sheltered from winds. There are roughly 12ft x 2ft.

I would love to see some trailing flowers falling over the front edge and a variety of colours behind.

This is my first opportunity after forty years to be able to do anything in a garden - so assume no prior knowledge :)

    Thank you.

    Hi

July is a bit late planting from seeds also the choice at the garden centers will be sparse or ££ , but you could start planing for spring , ie wall flowers pansies and add some bulbs in the bottom of the huge planters as they wont be long before they are available and I know you can order on line with those now.

As Spruce says, too late for this year. Can I suggest an old favourite of mine? Mixed Antirrhinum for a sea of colour well into the winter months.

Thank you for your suggestions. One day I will learn some of the names. For now I've gone for some mini Fuchsia's, something that is generally small blue flowers and falls over the front edges and some banana custard flowers.
