Yes, they are tough little plants, just keep them well watered.

I'm growing Sungold for the first time and this is the first truss ripening. I wasn't expecting them to be orange in colour, I thought they'd be yellow. I have tasted the first one and although it's sweet it has a fruity flavour too. I'll pass over all judgement after taste testing fruit later in the crop. :)

Don't worry to much @fat controller, my tomatoes stalled three times before they got going and they look like they're going to crop well now. We've had so little heat and sun here on the island this year I'm still not sure whether they will all ripen, we'll see!

Despite the lack of heat I'm leaving the greenhouse window on it's first notch over night even though temperatures have been down to 8C this week. The door is left half open during the day to keep damp at bay despite it being chilly.

Mine are way behind this year too (Gardener's Delight and Marmande) because they took ages to germinate and then struggled to get going; they even seemed to be suffering from the heat we had in July . They're all outside, and the best looking ones are on the three plants which I didn't sow, they've just popped up out of the compost.

 They're getting there slowly but surely. Some ripening would be good....I'm so impatient! image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg

@Cannyfullpots I always carefully water at the base of the plant as splashing water all over the leaves is supposed to increase their chance of being affected by desease.

                        Thank you @Scrungee

I wouldn't normally water the actual foliage etc - but I made the mistake of brushing 2 moulting huskies in the driveway - mix that with wind blowing in the wrong direction, it was like being in a snowglobe! Plants disappeared under home made fleece & everything :oopss:

Looking at the pic you posted, a few of them look red?

                          Hiya John
I seem to recall that if left long enough, they turn red. I'm probably mistaken :)
