I'm pretty sure it will be birds, they go for my onion sets, just pulling them out of the ground

I've put some string up with plastic bags on & its not happened again - so it must have been the birds. There are ALOT of magpies there.

Heres the latest pics taken yesterday -

Today it was all about the shed..I've not been able to use it due to bees nests at the back so I've just had to dump stuff at the front & leave the rubbish the last person left, at the back. The bees have done a bunk so I was in there like a shot:dancy:

The shed is rotting on one side.. image.jpg
I ptched it up the best I could using wood that was lying about. Its not perfect but hopefully a bit more sturdy now.

          After.. image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg
          Feels like mine now:ccheers:

Pretty happy with how things are growing at the mo considering it was all chucked in at the last minute.

The plot now looks like its a dumping ground:help: image.jpg
Heading there today to sort GH 1 & 2 out (maybe I should name them :snork:) aswell as sort out the now vast amounts of waterbutts & composters that I seem to be over run with:rolleyespink:

If it ever stops raining this week, my plan is to pull up everything thats there "pretending" to grow!

Its a wash out & not much else is going to happen now & really want to soil ready to get onions & garlic in.

Pulled up all tomatoes already as they had blight. Leeks I will leave as theyre coming on ok, apart from 1 or 2 with rust but will try deal with that at some point.

I'll be pulling up all cabbage & spinach as I need to use that plot for the onions etc

Melons were doing ok in size until damp weather - now most are going soft before they even got off the ground.

....hey ho, theres always next year!

That is how it goes with allotments at the start, eventually it will probably settle down. Mind you, mine is still a dumping ground in part, I do have a designated dumping ground that is palleted off so to speak..lol.

My plot will get worse before it gets better though, I'm moving two fruit cages this winter, creating a new 40 x 14 bed and erecting a new polytunnel. In between all of that I'll be getting a few tractor loads of manure delivered too.

Greenhouse names for you, how about "Basil" and "Tom"?

                        Steve...:)

I'll get name plaques made for them @Steve R :ideaIPB: Sounds like youre going to be extremely busy!! Youll have to keep us updated on the change around.

Today I spent mostly doing this...
                          image.jpg image.jpg
Lots of roof tiles free from freecycle. Plan is to use them as edging to mark the plots, theres still as many again to collect...then i can put pathways inbetween them :blue thumb:

Like i say...thats the plan - whether it goes accordingly or not, i dont know :snork:
