    Few questions on black mould.

Woke today to at least 5 patio slabs covered in black spots looking almost like berry staines, after some research it is black mould. What causes this to grow outdoor in slabs and what can I do to prevent it?

I have killed it off for now by pouring neat bleach on the infected slabs and scrubbed it in with the yard brush and then rinsed with water, this resulted in nice clean mould free slabs.

    Any else suffer with this?

Never heard of it before but just make sure all the bleach water is completely washed away as cats kind of like it and will drink it which can cause ulcers in their mouth and other problems :-)

Hope it gets rid of it tho :-)

It's quite common on soft stone such as sandstone paving. :noidea:

        Seems a bit sudden.
Not bird shite is it, they eat black currants and blackberries this time of year.

I have similar problems when I eat beetroot.
But not on the patio, obviously:snork:

I think it's developed to quickly to be mould so like Pete I think it's birds. Are Elderberries about yet, they are usually the culprit?
