Lucky you, I haven't had a single flower, but I think they were too small for this year :(

Small bulbs grow on faster in small pots.

@longk I have four or five Watsonia scattered around. I'm not convinced that any of them are very happy. Having said that this has been good year and three of them have flowered so far this year. Only ever a single flower spike each but rather nice.

I was wondering about how they would do outdoors.

Thunbergia gregorii has survived another winter outdoors..............

So did Sollya heterophylla a couple of metres away although it took a while to recover.............

I grew some Watsonia from seed a few years ago, they did quite well up until the cold winters of 2009 etc.
I've only got one left now, and this year I think its too dry to flower, its amongst shrubs.

I think if just given a cloche over winter, they will do ok in most years.

Mean while the fig picking season is upon us.

Canna altensteinii - left to flower outside- it got too big (over 8ft) for my conservatory.

Alocasia Calidora - I never expected it to flower, until Pete showed us his - I thought it just had big leaves. It has pups too.
