I uninstalled it as it was a bit of a pain and wouldn't recognise my printer even though it said it was working perfectly :(

        Good afternoon @whis4ey my friend,this might help:smile:

1.The first step in troubleshooting a printer problem is to use Windows 10’s own troubleshooting tools. Search for printers in the Windows 10 Search box and select Devices and Printers from the list of results. This will open the Devices and Printers Control Panel pane.

2.Look in the window for your printer — it might be listed under Printers or Unspecified, If it’s there, right-click it and choose Troubleshoot from the menu that appears. Follow the on-screen instructions for troubleshooting the printer, but be prepared for this to not work — it won’t always.

3.If Windows 10 troubleshooting doesn't work, or if Windows 10 hasn't detected your printer, the next step is to check whether or not it’s been installed. Click Start and go to Settings - Devices - Printers & scanners.

4.If you don’t see your printer listed in the main window, click the Add a printer or scanner option and wait while Windows tries to detect your printer — make sure it’s connected to your PC and switched on.

5.If your printer is detected, just follow any on-screen instructions to install it — Windows will download and install any necessary drivers automatically. If it isn’t listed, click the The printer I that I want isn’t listed option.

You’ll then see five different options, four of which are four adding a printer that’s shared over a network. If you need to do this, we’ll assume you know how to continue from this point, since setting up network sharing in the first place is the trickiest part of this process.

So instead we’ll focus on adding a ‘local’ printer — one that’s directly connected to the computer you’re using. Select the first My printer is a little older. Help me find it. option and click Next. Windows 10 will search your PC again for connected printers and, hopefully, detect yours and install it.

If you’ve reached this far and still don’t have a working printer, the chances are that your printer has reached the end of its useful life — with Windows 10, anyway. There’s not much you can do about this:sofa:

Thanks Owl, but Windows 10 has my new Canon printer listed in devices and scanners and said it was working perfectly, but it wouldn't print anything from it.
I reinstalled 8.1 and all is well again
          Why do we bother

I think I'd rather stick pins in my eyes than get involved in this kind of hassle.
To me, if they cant make it work for "us", they should give it up and get a proper job.

Don't think that's an approved measurement nowadays so it must contravene some EU law somewhere! :nonofinger: :heehee:

This post is just my honest opinnion and how Woo feels about Windows 10

Good morning everyone's has a choice and with the greatest respect, for every negative report I could post a positive one,I made my choice because I tested it for a few months and really got to know it before it was released,as for my personal details I turned them all off,I am happy with Windows 10 ,its faster ,sleeker ,for me its the difference between a Windows 8(Robin Reliant) and Windows 10(Ferrari);) our personal details are no longer a secret anyway, and haven't been for a few years now,I don't have a state of the art mobile phone, because it encroaches on my space, windows 10 doesn't do that,I love windows 10 ,and I personally think that it the best thing since sliced bread;) so please don;t be afraid of progress it is the future but the choice is still yours my friends:smile:

Good for you Woo ..... nobody would ever try to take that away from you ...
However ... I object very strongly indeed to my personal files lying in some computer somewhere (the cloud?).... (God knows where??? .... a warehouse in England, Ireland, Lithuania, Russia, USA ???? ) Sometimes 'the future' as you call it, may be a massive step backwards in real terms. The internet has a massive amount of good to its name, but even more evil unfortunately.
Each of must make up our own minds as to how we use it ......
