    Aloha everyone,

@moyra Can't you put a friendly note on that person's car explaining how awkward it is for you?

I think that last night it got past being cats and dogs and ended up being elephants and giraffes! The garden was ecstatic! :hapydancsmil:

I picked about 20lbs of golden plums yesterday - my favourite plum. They had gone from not being ripe two days ago to almost all of them being ready to pick. I have to wear gloves to pick them as the wasps were all over, and inside, them. Picking needs to be done in the morning as the wasps aren't aggressive then. From late morning onwards they're unpredictable as they can be drunk on the juice! :yikes:

If the rain stops (drizzling at the moment - EDIT: just started peeing down) I'll pick more with Mrs Shiney's help. I need to get the ladders out and then I can pick and pass them down to her.

Mrs Shiney is working on her entries for the horticultural show this year but hasn't quite got the enthusiasm for it. There are awards (made of card and in different colours for 1st, 2nd and 3rd) for dozens of categories and silver cups for the person with the highest total scores in the different classes. Mrs Shiney won most of the cups last year (five of the six) and is barred from winning them again for three years. So I think she's only entering a couple of dozens sections :rolleyespink:. I'm not confident this year about our veggie entries as they were devastated by the wildlife.

Keep well and have a great day

    Aloha!

Shiney, that seems unfair to bar someone because the one most classes the year before. Very unjust.

I think it's to encourage other people to enter. Otherwise they may just say to themselves that it's not worth competing against her. :noidea: :)

Good morning @shiney I resemble that:lunapic 130165696578242 5: They have decided that Woo cannot enter the local garden Comp this year because some people complained that they don't get a chance to win,so I thought about entering under another name such as W.I.S.E Owl but then I would have to move the garden:whistle:

I have taken their decision as an Owl should in a dignified and adult manner and told them they can stick the Garden comp where the sun don't shine:lunapic 130165696578242 5:

@wiseowl well done :yay: :heehee:. That's unfair . They shouldn't bar you from entering but they could put into the regulations that someone can't win first prize two years in succession. Then you would be able to win second prize and know that it was really first! :)

The horticultural show is a bit different. Nobody is barred. You just can't win the prizes for the highest overall points in each class. Mrs Shiney can still enter and get the award for winning all the sections she entered but can't hold the silver trophy that year (or the next). She's still entering in order to compete - and make it harder for the judges :lunapic 130165696578242 5:

That's good Shiney. I am tired and need my bed. Rain is still pelting down. I think the garden has enough now. Have a good evening all,
              God bless all.:wub2:

Good Evening Moyra how terrible, I can understand your frustration, how awful that you have to go across the grass. If the car is parked on the footpath or causing an obstruction where the curb is lowered, it would be classified as... causing an obstruction to pedestrians and reportable.

How lovely that you paint... and its a shame that you can't get back into it. What kind of paint did you use?

As to the other day....best laid plans to do a painting.... went out of the window when work called and asked me to sort some problems out!!! To be honest I paint anything. it just depends what kind of mood I'm in or if something has captured or inspired me :) I find painting therapeutic and very rewarding, since moving the house is full of paintings that I have done. Do you still have your paintings?

                    Morning all :spinning:

Will need to tidy up after the rain
yesterday, one of the pots with
                    tomatoes in toppled over.

Got to get the car ready for Sunday,
it comes around so quick. :thud:

Used the time yesterday to get
some pricking out done. Also had
an overgrown New Guinea B.L. so
cut that and made some new
                    plants :yay:

Well, hope everyone has a good day.

Good morning everyone. The sun has returned this morning even if it is somewhat cooler than of late.
Bailey and I are just heading out for a long walk onto the towpath and into Haw Park woods then it is home and shopping with my OH (oh joy)
Have a very good day all.

Good morning everyone, I did leave a note on each of the cars vcry nicely asked them if they could allow sufficient room for handicapped peeps to pass through between them with a walker. We shall see this morning if it has worked.

AB any medium but mostly oils. I have only kept the one of our Alsation dog I did, I gave the others away, wish I hadn't now though. But people said they liked them could they buy them and I said no take it.

Have a good day everyone, hope to get some washing done and dry today am I expecting too much I wonder.
                        God bless. :wub2:

Good Morning Moyra, I hope that they pay attention to your note and shame on them if they don't.

How lovely... oils.... not ventured that far yet I tend to use acrylic as I like how it blends and then seal once dried.... have done watercolour but depends on what I'm painting and what effect I want. It is a shame you let other take your paintings but I am sure that they are enjoying them :)

Hope the sun stays out for you, have a lovely day :spinning:

It's sunny this morning. After all the rain, and the fields have been harvested, I think that I'll prepare everything for a giant bonfire this evening. :blue thumb:
