I was trying to make her feel better by putting it into a wider context. In retrospect, I can see now that this backfired and did not have the intended effect.

Of course I understand how horrid it is for her to have her hanging basket stolen; my first words were "that is a very low blow"...which indicates I had sympathy for her situation. Not only that but I also tried to find several solutions - over 2 posts.

So, I can only assume that you read what you want to and discard the rest.... [IMG]

@Lucyloo we have two brass faced headstones in our churchyard.
Tough luck TT . As above there are many locking devices for baskets and containers. Get some for next year, make it difficult for the thieving scumbags ! :paladin:

I'm trying to tell you how it came across, that's all. FWIW, I don't think that putting things into perspective was really helpful, but that's just me.

Do you think some of my solutions might have been helpful Freddy?

Of course, and they are welcome. As I said though, comparing her situation to something more diabolical wasn't (imo) helpful.

I think it's always good to put things into perspective. For me, it helps to get over any upset I may be feeling over something and put it down to experience so I can understand where you're coming from @rosebay. That isn't to say that I'm dismissing how bad TT feels. It's a pity low blow to have something you've spent time and money get stolen.

Does it matter, Rosebay? Getting caught up in an ever increasing circle of misunderstanding does not help or support TT:dunno::snork:.......and that is what we do in the GC gang, try to support and help each without clashing over personal differences. So let's take a breath and think about TT's distress over her loss rather than ourselves.

I dislike being accused of something when I am innocent of it. Others here have agreed with my posts that I offered TT solutions, because I cared about her situation.

You can get locks for hanging baskets to prevent them being stolen :)

Good morning @TurnedThespian I am so sorry to hear that your hanging basket was stolen my friend,I feel for you, when 3 of mine disappeared over night, I know I took it personally ,I just replaced mine the next day,and left a large sign in the front garden saying:smile:

"If the Moron who stole my hanging Baskets wants some more please just knock and ask before taking them" and we can come to some arrangement ;)

I never saw them again but it made me feel a lot better ,Mrs Woo made me take it down after a week;)

Ladies and gentlemen, can you all please take a little step back and consider your posts before submitting; I am sure that nobody has caused offence deliberately, and I am equally sure that we are all adult enough to have a discussion without falling out. Apologies and explanations have been given, so please let things lie now and get the thread back on topic.
