That means you're an optimistic pessimist, Sheal, because a real pessimistic pessimist would know that things can get worse!!:hate-shocked::wallbanging::dunno::heehee:

Well, I've been busy over the weekend ordering a great list of stuff for the Observatory such as RCD weather proof double sockets, LED lighting kits, armoured cables, rubber flooring, high decibel sounding security alarms, Scuba [don't ask:doh::heehee:] boxes for the scopes, extractor units, heating units, etc, for when it eventually arrives. On top of that I've ordered some filters, a star diagonal, and a few other "bits and pieces" for the scopes. So I'm expecting a queue of Couriers and postmen knocking on my door throughout next week.:heehee:

Well, it won't be centrally heated that's for sure, Joolz:dunno::heehee: But thinking of all the nights last Autumn and Winter with the Telescope on the patio and staring at the stars until the early hours of the morning, when it was freezing cold, I think the Observatory will seem like a Hotel.:hapydancsmil:

Well, this one is built out of fibreglass, Joolz, and is water and weather proof
            [IMG]

It is built in sections and you can have just the dome top or like I'm having in the pic. They also supply one like this

I think you're going to need a Onesie to keep you warm Armandii. I picked this one for you, it's a fleece material and appropriately decorated with UFO's.

I'd want one with stars and planets on, Sheal:heehee: Actually, I've been keeping warm by using my Thermal Fishing Jacket with bib and braces with has given me good service on many a freezing morning beside a lake or river. I also have a pair of thermal Wellie Boots with thermal socks.......lovely!! Whatever I wear I need plenty of pockets which is why a Body Warmer or Fishing Jacket is really good.:snork:

Talk about fussy! I've found one with stars on but you'll have to have stripes with it! :heehee:

I bet it takes ages to get into that lot but I can see the practicality of it. :)

Wow. What a project. Many hours if enjoyment to be had. Waiting for the pics when it is all installed. I hope it all goes smoothly for you. No snooping on the neighbours though he he!

That photo with the wooden walls reminded me of an outhouse I once used! :hate-shocked: :lunapic 130165696578242 5:

Re the boots: my brother-in-law once had thermal motorcycling boots (and gloves) with electric heaters in them.

Something to keep you warm ;) :heehee:

I keep coming back to this thread and feeling envious all over again! I was taught at home with my brothers for a few years, and mum often rustled us all out into the garden in the early hours with my middle brother's telescope and my dad's binoculars for an astronomy lesson (she was a great believer in practical lessons of all sorts). We loved it! You're going to have such a wonderful time with your observatory. I'm really excited on your behalf! :hapydancsmil:

And probably nobody else would use it after you'd been there, Shiney:hate-shocked::heehee::runforhills: You actually just buy the roof and place that on a flat roof of a building, a lot of schools have done that.
