January is coming down quickly, and with it brings my other half's birthday. I'm wondering if anyone had any ideas for something extra romantic, I've been out of work for her last two, and so haven't been able to do much, which makes me feel awful. So I have promised myself that this one will be brilliant. If I can list a few things that she likes, and maybe get some suggestions, that would be brilliant! No answer is too much, I assure you.

She likes: Horses, Oak trees/forests, Hiking, Photography, Dogs, Skincare, Sightseeing, Cold.

She does not like: Heights, Massages (from anyone but me :blue thumb:) , that's about it...

Also, her birthday will be in the negative temperatures, so all sun/warm activities are out of the question. There will more than likely be 30-40cm of snow on the ground at that time.

Here are the current ideas going around my head:
    Dog sledding
    Spa day
Hotel (night before, to wake up there on the day), icelandic horse riding in the mountains followed by a beautiful restaurant dinner.

    Thankyou so much in advance.

Too often we can take our partners for granted. Sometimes the simple but most heartfelt expressions can be the most romantic, e.g. letting her know how you feel about her ... still... in the birthday card - what she means to you. ♥

My personal view is words mean than presents and I agree with we take our partners for granted. Pick a trip that would suit you both best, book it and get the tickets, write a special letter..... enclose the letter and booking tickets into her card and watch the delight on her face.

I always say if you buy me a meaningful card it will mean more than anything as you've had to study it to say the right things, what ever you do.... I hope you both have a wonderful time

Thank you for the ideas guys!

I'm thinking of going with the dog sledding. My current plan is as follows (subject to change):
Birthday on Tuesday, go to a cracking little restaurant, something small and quaint, that won't be too crowded on a Tuesday evening. Speak to her boss (we work at the same place) and ask if we can both have Friday off for this reason. If yes, we can fly to Kiruna (north of Sweden, where the dog sledding and northern lights are) on the Friday, spend Friday and Saturday night at a lovely hotel, dog sled on the Saturday, another restaurant, then home on Sunday.

Of course, this is very rough, and just a preliminary idea, but what do you think?

White water rafting is an exhilarating day out - may be a bit chilly in January though.
Failing that I find a new ironing board will always leaves the love of your life speechless for several days, it's so sweet :wub2::biggrin:
