I am so pleased that Jeremy Corbyn has won the Labour leadership. Finally Labour is back to being a left-wing political party and not a diluted version of the Tory party. He is like a breath of fresh air and has galvanised many people into becoming interested in politics again.

He wants to combat austerity - addressing the "grotesque levels of inequality in our society" He is not arrogant and his sincerity is palpable.

Although I probably dont agree with much of his ideas, I must admit I quite like the bloke.
He does appear to be a bit different from the manufactured bunch we have at the moment, although I have got to say, I dont think that in itself is enough to make me want to vote Labour.

Admittedly he wants to bring about sweeping changes. Of course he will be severely criticised by the opposing parties (who may be worried about his surprising and sudden popularity) but it remains to be seen how this will all pan out. Creating money to invest in housing seems controversial but I see that he has the backing/endorsement of a number of prominent economists.

His aim to combat austerity is very popular because this issue is affecting so many people currently. I am glad that he wants to stop NHS from being privatised. The thought of considering profit in weighing up someone's future healthplan is a very worrying situation.

                        Good afternoon @Val.. ;)
                        Jeremy Corbyn:sofa:

On Monday night, the Islington MP launched his policy for young people, who make up much of his growing support. Speaking in central London, Corbyn said he would restore the educational maintenance allowance for college students, allow housing benefit for under 21s, scrap university tuition fees, bring back student grants and introduce properly paid apprenticeship schemes as well as reducing the voting age to 16.

Well, I understand Putin voted for him after joining the Labour Party for £3 so that he could cast his vote. Putin thinks anyone who wants to leave Britain defenceless by removing Trident is a friend of his and worth the £3 if he ever succeeded.:dunno::heehee:
