I don't align myself politically with Nigel Farage, Moyra:dunno:, and I certainly wouldn't buy a second hand car from him:heehee:, but I confess that he speaks plainly and without any political correctness on the subjects that are not done so by other main stream Politicians........and I find myself nodding in agreement while being surprised that I am doing so:doh::heehee:!! Having said that I wouldn't vote for him:dunno::nonofinger:.

No, but you voting for Lord Sutch and the Official Monster Raving Loony Party didn't help, Jiffy:heehee::loll::lunapic 130165696578242 5:

Outline is the correct word, RB. Those are really just stated aims rather than policies with no real "meat on the bones"............so as always in politics the Devil in in the Details. Ah, yes, I know!!......"he's only just been elected, give him a chance", but in reality Mr Corbyn has been outlining his policies for years verbally and in his actions, so I find it difficult to believe that he and his team couldn't find the time during the campaign to clarity the detail.....or was the "Devil" in there making them hold back?:doh:
I also find the blatant and somewhat embarrassing attempt by Corbyn and his associates to dismiss giving the four top jobs solely to Men in a patronising "explanation" that in their view "all goveernment positions were equal" to be a indication that we are gullible and easily persuaded as a 3 year old child...which is the view of the other mainstream politicians in office. No politician in any government, in any country, would view government posts as being equal and the fact that Corbyn's male "mates" has been awarded/rewarded in such a way, and such an ineffective explanation has been given, shows that, it seems to me, that dishonesty, patronisation, and nepotism is already being displayed...........so perhaps his politics and views are not so different, below the surface, after all.:coffee::dunno::heehee:

But if the media/opposition keep up this constant barrage of criticism, will it prove counter productive?

Have the Lib Dems dismissed his views on Trident and Uni Tuition Fees as Marxist dogma yet?, have UKIP (and many Conservatives) dismissed his Eurosceptic views as Marxist dogma yet?, have the Conservatives/Lib Dems/Labour all now decided that Quantitative Easing is Marxism?, and just how selling off Council/Housing Association properties (rather than building more homes) will solve the housing shortage is also a complete mystery.

Not saying I agree with him, just wondering ...

He's alienated most of the media (radio in particular) by refusing to give interviews (don't know if he has now done so as I've been busy since this morning). This makes it look as though he hasn't got his ideas straight so he doesn't want a confrontation.

The longer he delays the interviews the harder it will be to get a fair hearing.

You've put that much better than I tried to do this morning :dbgrtmb:

To be honest it makes a nice change for a politician to keep his mouth shut when he has nothing to say. Far better than listening one get his soundbite in as a response to the days headlines whilst saying naff all about policy or beliefs.

I think that most politicians should have their mouths sewn up most of the time.

My thoughts are that politics have moved on, and much as we hate the ones we see most of the time, its happened because of the media, and the public.
Everything is now so intense, and politicians have to be prepared to answer questions, and be in the public eye at all times.
Its why they are like they are, avoiding a question, or talking and saying nothing, but at the same time not offending anyone.

Its a difficult tightrope to walk, I dont think this bloke will achieve it.

Its one thing getting votes from a party/unions, quite another getting them from the general public.

I'd agree with that, Pete, but for the fact that they've been doing it for decades, and you're correct to a degree that they do it to avoid not so much causing offence but leaving themselves vulnerable to criticism when they change tack. But as I said by spouting a thousand words and actually saying nothing to avoid a direct answer to a direct question only increases, yours, mine and most of the general public's frustration, irritation, and distrust which has lead to the general contempt that we hold Politicians in:gaah:. We, through Life, expect in conversations, enquiries from ourselves and those we are communicating with, it builds trust and confidence between people. I wouldn't buy a car from anyone who I've just asked "how good and reliable is the car?" who answered with "Do you think England will win the World Cup".......a simple analogy I know:dunno: but I think you get my meaning:snork:. Politicians would rather pacify, tell half truths by wording a statement that could have several paths, to avoid hidden agendas in policies and thereby gain power with the least opposition........and that's a sad but, in my opinion, fact of Life.:dunno:
