I've been looking for cheap daffodil bulbs to put along the sides of our road and under the lawn at the edges (it's shortly all getting dug up, new fence, new lawn, so thought plant daffodils at the same time!)

These are the cheapest that I've found.
It says £19.99, but when you go to order the 25kg size they're £18.99.
    Says free delivery
Also have mix of different colours for £22, but I like normal yellow ones :spinning:

      £19.99 for 25kg is 26p/kg.

Morrisons supermarkets are selling packs of 50 daffs for £3. I put one on their fruit & veg scales and it weighed 4kg, making them 75p/kg

£19.99 for 25 kg is 79.99 per kg.

        25 kg at 26p is only £6.50

So I reckon Morrisons are cheaper.

If it wasn't for the flaming postage costs I could send you loads. I have god knows how many kg of Pheasant Eyes which are lovely but I just have too many and have loads of plain yellow too. To post them to you would no doubt cost the earth unfortunately. If you live anywhere close to Perth/Cupar in Fife PM me and maybe you could pop over and get some that are surplus.

Beware cheap daf bulbs......cheap is certainly not the best! :nonofinger: These bargain packs are usually undersize bulbs and/or of unproven or failed varieties that haven't made the grade and can even include some ugly ones. You probably won't get many flowers and come next spring wish you'd invested a bit more.

        Silu's offer sounds much better!

I have to agree with Redwing. The Morrisons bulk tulips I have planted do flower - but the blooms are not as large or vibrant as the more expensive tulips from B&Q. The daffs in the pictures on the angus horticulture web site do look rather good - I might well purchase a net.

Have you seen the Daffodil bulb size on the Angus website ? 8- 10mm or 12 - 16mm, unless I'm missing something that's tiny.

Hi JazzSi, I think there's probably a misprint there as it should be " cm ".
10/12 cm is the normal size for miniature such as Tête a Tête or Jetfire.
12/16 cm is the normal size for larger Daffs/Narcissi such as King Alfred or Sir
        Winston Churchill.

PS... I don't think you can beat Wilkinsons for choice if you want to see what you're actually buying. Ours has around 30 or so different varieties at £1.75 for 10/15 bulbs.

For anyone who is interested - Angus Horticulture are also selling these bulbs on ebay. I've just purchased a 25kg sack of mixed daffs (large size) for £22.99. I'm ashamed to admit that it was too much 'hassle' to sign up on their own web site - so went to ebay :)

Hi JWK - as promised here are some pic's of the daffs. I've placed a credit card sized card against them so you can judge how large they are. Came through no issues via e-bay.

Thanks Clanless, I decided to order elsewhere now, I know those are a bargain but I wanted fragrant daffs and a named variety as it's for a specific planting scheme I'm planning. Anyway, I ended up paying a bit more, £30 for 25kg plus p&p - from jparkers wholesale, also got tempted by Crown Imperials and Snake's Head Fritillaries at the same time :)
