To be fair aren't our elected reps supposed to represent us and not their respective parliamentary parties?

I don't know if it's true but the story goes that he divorced his wife because she wouldn't let their son go to the local comprehensive school!

If it is true that seems to be a bit arrogant and also not listening to his wife.

Although my wife says that I don't listen to her, either! :heehee:

Yes, but my point was that if he doesn't have the support of the PLP, what chance does the party have of winning? Apart from stupid policies, the one thing that guarantees failure is no cohesion/unity.

Well there are two points there - the cause of the divorce (which may entail much more than differing views of schooling - that could have just been what tipped it over) and the conflict over schools.

I am not sure that it is arrogance so much as standing by what is regarded as something important. Maintaining loyalty to integrity can be regarded as admirable or inflexible depending on perspective. It could also be argued did his wife listen to him.... [IMG]

Yes, but Tory layabouts have much smarter jackets.

The monarch herself typically doesn't sing along when the anthem is played, says Ingrid Seward, editor of Majesty magazine. ;)

In keeping silent during God Save The Queen, at least, she has something in common with the leader of her loyal opposition.:heehee:

Maybe, but it's not what they sing in the early hours of the morning

Is it a step up from the Sex Pistols' "God Save The Queen"?
