Hmmmm, slightly disappointing hazy skies at the moment:dunno::wallbanging:. Perhaps as the night progresses and the temperature drops the skies will clear....we shall see:coffee: I've got my Thermal Wellie boots, thermal jacket and hat ready anyway.

I've put a new piece of equipment on the back of my SCT telescope which is a dual speed focuser and then attached a electric motor to the focuser so that I can get a fine focus after using the main focuser. I've got the scope on Lunar rate so that it's now tracking the moon, that means I can leave it and then go back later to find it still on the Moon........hopefully:heehee:. I've also put a blue filter on the eyepiece to stop the glare you get from the reflecting light from the Sun. The haze has slackened slightly but there is still a halo around the Moon:dunno::coffee:

Not a great shot as too lazy to set up the tripod, remote release etc. :-)

It's been a bit cloudy but I can see it.....no photos here either. I didn't think the colour would be so obvious.

Clear skies throughout, took my camera into the middle of the road outside our house, aircraft kept flying past getting in the way, car turned up just as I found it in the viewfinder, very slow shutter even on 3200 ASA (plus cable release stopped working and couldn't be bothered to find radio release), saw a hedgehog, going back to bed.

I agree that the sky is stunning tonight. I've, almost, never seen so many stars in the sky.

My camera is not really up to this sort of work.

This is a handheld full zoom - including digital. 3.20 a.m.

This was also very easily visible low in the East so I would guess it is Mars

4.30 a.m. Camera having difficulties with low light.
