      Good Morning

blinking cold is still here, I wish it would buzz off! still it's only a cold, it's not serious & I know in a couple of days it will clear up.
Plenty of wild birds in the garden this morning, Jenny wren is hopping along the fence! The hens are pecking at the grass!
@liliana please be very careful with your back, don't go out in the garden & do too much you will upset it again. Sounds like the pears are keeping you busy, have you ever made pear crumble? It's delicious.
Not a bad day here slightly overcast but it's not cold.
Have a good day everyone :)

        Aloha everyone,

        Another beautiful day today.

That's a good warning but I'd never get anything done if I took notice of it! :heehee: But I have slowed up over the last 50+ years of gardening :blue thumb:

It will be another busy day today. This morning I need to look into visas for different countries now that I've got my new passport - passport office were very quick and did the job in just over a week. :dbgrtmb:

Then I have to go and sort out the spec on a load of doors the village hall are needing to replace.

This afternoon I have my bridge club to run. I'll get home about 5.30 and then have to get off again as I've been asked to play as a substitute in someone's team at another club. That starts at 7 p.m. and it's about 20 miles away. I should be home by midnight. :)

@liliana Mrs Shiney made a very nice cream soup yesterday. It was cauliflower and pear soup with some fried onion and some coconut milk. Then blitzed.

Got to rush. Just had a call from the BT engineer as I reported an unsafe overhead cable. I need to show him where it is.

        Have a great day

        Aloha!

@liliana could you put some on a table at the front of your house for sale?
The only other things I can think of are spicy pear chutney or jam...having said that you are short of jars :doh:do you have any discount shops near you where you could buy some cheap jars? :)

Shiney, your list of things you are doing today is pretty busy.

Me, I'm just sat here waiting for the boiler iron to get up steam so I can hem some panels and deliver them this morning, get my money and then spend it..

Got a really good sale on hanging pot soil at a local store so will be loading up my little car with about 300 liters (10bags) of it and then get my oldest grandson to earn some money taking it down to the cellar for me. That will take care of next year's potting needs.

Then down to see my friend in the home. He's hemiplegic and I take him sweets every other day and visit while he scarfs them down.

It's about lunchtime there so I hope you have all had a good day so far and enjoy your dinner and afternoon!

Just a normal day in the Shiney household. I thought things would slow down a bit when I retired 15 years ago.

Just come in from the garden. Picked beans, dug up some garlic, collected two carrier bags of windfalls to cook down and freeze and cut back 20ft of blackberry plants and put them on the bonfire.

Just leaves me enough time to make lunch - a toasted cheese sandwich in my trusty, 60 year old, manual, cast iron sandwich toaster. It gives a much tastier result than these new fangled things. :blue thumb:

Love a cast iron sandwich Shiney :)

                  Morning early people :)

Still dark here, better get used to that I suppose

Off to the National Trust to finish my leafmold bin today, hope it's big enough, Thomas Hardy seemed to be fond of his greenwood trees, lot of them

More Chickens coming :chicken: There'll be a fight.

Have a good day everyone :)

                    Good morning @Zigs and everyone.
Still dark here as well, mind you we have the fog again so that isn't helping.
Hope that you all have a good day.

                        Aloha everyone,

Sun is working it's wonders in Shineyland again this morning.

That reminds me of the song that was published exactly 200 years ago when I was a lad :old:

60 years ago the BBC banned it on most of its programmes because it was immoral!! :snork:

Lots to do in the garden today :blue thumb:

Keep well and have a great day
