Good Morning everyone :) I hope everyone is well :)

Back from our lovely holiday in Spain, it was very hot so in the morning caught up with all the jobs we wanted to do in the house and by mid morning just sat back and enjoyed the relaxation. Caught up with a lot of our friends so lots of eating and drinking... as you do on holiday :spinning: Tess has lost quiet a few pounds running around in the 'campo' and I think I found a few pounds of them :heehee:

On one of our days we went to the bank to pay one of our taxes and up-date them with our new address etc. and on our way home we had a bump in the car... or should I say a car hit a car which then hit us up the rear end at standing traffic lights....what a palaver that was!! The first car took off rather quickly and luckily the car that hit us managed to get the registration.. so spent one of our days at the police station!! They just love paperwork!! All sorted now thank goodness.

On our return home, I had asked a neighbour to water the garden but alas they forgot some of my tomatoes so decided that it was time for them to go to the compost heap. You won't believe what happened....

I'm always very careful, so I cut the string holding the tomatoes to their canes, removed the canes from the pots and placed them on the floor... emptied the plants into the wheelbarrow and off to the compost heap. When I got back I picked up all the canes to put them together to transport them to the side of the green house, always carry them horizontally for safety... one fell back to the ground... and yes I bet you can guess what happened... without a thought I bent down to pick it up and 'WAM' I bent into the upright ones, and one went straight into my eye... I can't tell you the pain, it knocked me to the ground. So, Mr AB rushed me to A & E who then rushed me to the Eye Clinic department. I can't believe how stupid I was, I even put rolled up tinfoil balls on the top of the canes so this just doesn't happen!

Anyway.... after lots of examinations and freezing my eye... I was told that I was a very, very lucky young lady, I damaged the white of my eye and scratched the cornea with a lot of bruising to the whole eye but luckily just missed the pupil. Thankfully although still very sensitive to light and still a little sore after a weeks treatment it is on the mend and my sight is slowly coming back to clearer vision... what a Muppet and a very valuable lesson learnt :frown:

Now that I am feeling a lot better, I can 'see' lol... I have a lot of catching up to do so probably glad it is raining so I can have an little bit of time catching up on what's been happening :)

Have a great day everyone, I have missed you all :spinning:

            Welcome back :blue thumb:

sorry to hear about your eye problem and I wish you better. :grphg:

Just as a note: instead of silver paper on top of the canes we put empty snail shells. That's recycling for you. :blue thumb:

Hi @Beckie76 it's good to be back I was having withdrawal symptoms :heehee: and thank you for your concerns x

I actually thought the hospital would have put a patch over it due to the bleeding but they don't now, they actually told me off as I asked Mr AB to soak a tea towel in water and add ice to stop the bruising and bleeding and they told me it was the worst thing to do due to germs in the water which could cause infections!

I'm still treating it with antibiotic and a gel to keep it moist and been told leaving it uncovered helps the healing process.

                  Amazing how things change :)

                      Morning early people :)

Welcome back AB & ouch :hate-shocked: Not very nice, hope it's healing now :fingers crossed:

More mundane clearing up here, gotta make some room in the pill box, will need a workshop over winter so will look at running some solar power from the van for lighting in there.

Do they sell LED's that mimic natural daylight? Might help beat the winter blues.

Looking at a job at the weekend that involves a breaker [IMG] Something to get me teeth into :)

Have a good day everyone :)

Good morning to all. Nothing much planned for today which is probably just as well looking at the weather, good job the Kindle battery is charged.

                              Morning all :spinning:
Welcome back Apple Blossom- back to the cold and wet UK :sick0026: it's enough to make
                              you catch a cold. :sick0026::cry3:.

Felt well out of it yesterday, did not get up until 10 am, went to bed with a slight
stomach ache, felt like :mute::mute::mute::mute: in the morning. Still up with the lark today, so am
going to wipe the cobwebs away, and try to have a bit of a clear up today.

Now that the rain is here, it is a good opportunity to get some more order in the
                              house. :th scifD36:

                                Aloha everyone,

It was sunny earlier but overcast now. Rain forecast for the afternoon but the rest of the week should be OK. :)

Mrs Shiney's talk went well yesterday and they said it was the best talk they've had in years :blue thumb:. We got mobbed afterwards with people wanting info and handouts. 200 people coming up to you as a crowd is quite daunting :rolleyespink:

I've just set up a work area in the garden for Mrs Shiney to carry on re-planting and potting up the tubs and baskets whilst it's raining. I've moved the work table and bags of compost (had to buy another four 70litre bags yesterday) under cover.

Wish all of you better and have a great day

                                Aloha!
