They can! If you use voice recognition on your Smart TV you can be listened into. Apparently it can also happen through some games consoles.

If you turn off voice recognition then it won't be possible - at the moment.

Just thinking ... I switch my phone off and leave it in the kitchen at night.

If they're listening in, all they'll hear is the washing machine going and the cat snoring. That'll confuse 'em.

I thought everyone knew that that they could turn your smart phone on and off, turn the mike, GPS, and the camera on whenever they wanted to.:dunno::doh: It also follows that if they can do it with your smart phone then they can do it with your laptop, notebook, etc.:hate-shocked: I don't have a smart phone just one that is so old it has a dial ring on it............so they can only mess with the GPS on mine

I don't think they can even mess with the GPS on mine. Don't think the facility is on something that old. It wouldn't help them much even if they could. It sits on a ledge at the address it's registered at and gets switched on about twice a year. :heehee:

It was made before they produced the facility to switch it on remotely.

Which makes me think, for people who have these apps that can control your electrical equipment at home - can they control those as well?

Apart from the fact that I don't turn my phone on - Except on Open Day :heehee: - I think that my phone pre-dates the GPS chips. They could still track a rough area through triangulation, but only if the phone is on long enough.
