Worth the effort, those leaves are quite beautiful.

Lovely nerines too. My new bulbs only have two little buds on them right now. Might have to wait til next year. Mine are Nerine 'Mr John' which may or may not be hardy, we shall see! No one seems to know. Should be alright here in Londinium.

Another seedling of Calydorea amabilis has bloomed and this one has the distinct markings and the petals and standards which are absent on the other seedling that has bloomed. I'm really pleased as the seed was only sown in January..................

Here's a seedling grown from seed collected from "Black and Blue" last year..................

Distinctly different to the parent plant but that could be because it is still a young plant or it could be that it will remain different next year.

        Schizostylis....................

        Thunbergia gregorii...............

        Salvia urica...................

        Salvia atrocyanea...............

        Echeveria pulvinata..............

A big thank you to @Anthony Rogers for the Cyrtanthus elatus/Vallota speciosa that he sent me early this year................

Hello. It is david austen's 'Lady Emma Hamilton'. Very reliable repeat flowerer. I've got 3 all in containers atm which I plan to combine with burgundy ice and rhapsody in blue next year.

I posted this in the Dahlia thread the other day - it's 'Emory Paul' which I think is my favourite at the moment. Each flower is at least a foot in diameter and quite beautiful. I think it works really well next to the Sambucus 'Black Lace' :)

I really love Salvias - one of the plants I only learnt about in the last year :D the microphyllas in particular are lovely.

                      Here's my Cerro potosi

Be careful, you could end up like me! More seeds, seedlings and plants than you have space for :heehee:

That should be good and hardy.

Afraid my photos aren't up to the skills of you lot but thought I'd just show that we do have lovely blue skies even well into October! The shrub with wonderful autumn colour is Fothergilla (close relative to Hazel) . Nothing special during the season until now when it is spectacular. The red Berberis has been that colour all season. It's a fairly new variety called Orange Rocket and certainly makes a colourful addition for months and months. IMG_1453.JPG IMG_1450.JPG IMG_1448.JPG
