I managed to get half a ton of Elephant dung, it was fresh
I put it on the roses and along the front privet,
Unfortunately my privet and next doors had died :-(

Do you live near a zoo by any chance?

As with most manure, it need to be "aged" before you use it.
If it's too fresh, it will possibly burn the roots of the plants. Which is what may have happened to your privet.

You have to be careful when you take an elephant for a walk in the garden! :nonofinger:

Ah. The picture explains it, Jack. You're meant to fork it in gently, bit by bit. Not throw it all on the hedge in one go! :)

I don't think the instructions told him that! So it's not his fault. :nonofinger:

I'd make a trunk call to the place you got it from and see if they can shed any light on it. Mind you that might be irrelephant.

Elephant dung is extremely fibrous but doesn't contain high nitrogen like bird manure. Over use of elephant dung leads to plant burn.
