Had a couple of random gardening related dreams recently.

First one, we were living in the house where I grew up, pottering about in the garden. I noticed the front door was open, and could hear someone inside. Turns out it was a delivery driver in the house, who then informs me "I've got those light bulbs you ordered, couldn't find anyone about so I went in and fitted them for you, and you get a free packet of carrot seeds with every bulb, so I've planted them for you as well", whereupon I noticed a nice freshly dug patch of earth near the front door. :dunno:

Second one involved me and a couple of colleagues at work, for some reason we were trying to manoeuvre a rotovator along the top of a brick wall.

Must cut down on the cheese.

You know that state half way between sleep and waking, where dream 'reality' and real reality briefly intermingle? Well once, in such stage, having just dreamed about some people being held captive by some strange creature, someone whispered clearly in my ear, and I quote exactly because I remember it clearly, "the answer lies with those that died before us".

That was a few years ago. I still have no idea what it means or where it came from.

Dunno. It was strange. Just to add to the spookiness, it happened while staying at my mams house, which is spooky anyway. Let's of strange sightings and feelings by many different people in her very old house (one of the oldest in town, used to be a farm house before the town even existed as a town). Whenever I stayed there, I frequently dreamed of two kids that were held captive by this strange creature. I felt it was somehow my job to free them. I never thought to mention any of this to my mam. It was just a weird dream after all. Until the whisper in my ear one mentioned above. I told my mam about that one, and about the two kids, a boy and a girl, who were trapped. My mam went pale. Her house had been my grandads house. Having told my mam of this dream, she proceeded to tell me that in the final hours before my grandads death, while waiting for the ambulance after he'd had a stroke, my grandad had become delusional and distressed. He kept asking who the two kids were, and that he must get them back to their mother because she'd be worried about them. He'd spoken to a boy and a girl to try to establish where they lived. My mam had told him there was only him and her there, and he'd got frustrated with my mam, wondering why she was saying she couldn't see these two kids. He was adamant that there was a little boy and a little girl in the house, and they needed to get home and he had no idea who they were or why they were there but he knew there was something wrong and they needed to get home to their mother. Very spooky if you ask me. I still have no idea what any of it means.

Strangest one I have had about 2 months ago.
I was with a school fried that I haven't seen for 25 years walking on some woods. It was strange because 1) I hadn't thought of him in years. 2) he had an adults body, but still the childish face he had 25 years ago.

But what was even weirder is that about 3 weeks later when we had moved into our new house. I was on the park with the wife and kids and he was there too. Turns out he lives around the corner.

Everybody dreams. Just not everybody remembers their dreams once they wake.

I read somewhere that you're most likely to remember your dreams if you wake naturally at your own pace. If the alarm clock wakes you you wake to suddenly and your brain doesn't commit the dream to memory, so you think you haven't dreamed at all.

Not quite sure about that! It presupposes that everyone sleeps, or sleeps sufficiently for the dreams to occur. :noidea:

Here's a thing. My dreams are created entirely by my mind. Some of my dreams are amazingly vividly creative. They have visual effects that would put any Hollywood special effects artist to shame. Yet in waking life I have no artistic flair whatsoever. So given that it's the same brain that can't come up with anything remotely artistic when I'm awake as it is when I'm asleep, how on earth can I conjure up such awesome visuals in my sleep? And another thing, seeing as we create our own dreams, how come they can surprise us?
