That's a solution, but a little bit of a rum deal for Zigs....

Thank goodness we women only puff pixie dust. No etiquette worries

now, to continue my left handed red wine spritzer drinking....

Had a phone call this morning from Mr Kandys sister at 7.10am this morning to say an ambulance had been called to the care home because their dad had had a fall.Evidently he tried to get out of bed on his own and had fallen banging his head on his chest of drawers and ripping the toe nail off of the little toe on one of his feet.He is now in hospital have various scans and blood tests and now he might have to go on to intravenous antibiotics because the pressure sore on his hip is infected even though the nurse who dresses it at the care home said it was healing nicely:sad:

Me I have been to the hospital to have my Chestickles squashed but I didn't realise that the pain that I have been suffering from under my left armpit on and off since the New Year could be something nasty:yikes:so have been told that even if the results come through good then I need to go and see my Dr if it carries on.If I went to the Dr for every ache and pain I suffered with I would be in there every day so tend only to go when things get unbearable, but anyway I didn't realise that armpit pain could be a sign of the big C until I read the leaflet I was sent with my appointment and speaking to the booking in lady at the hospital:sad:

I'm taking up walking as a hobby :yikes:. Just walked back from my Niece's coffee bar - 2 miles away. There is a public footpath that runs over a farmers fields - but I turned back as a MASSIVE bull  looked to be guarding the stile. Some probably closer to 3 miles.

Did about 5 miles on Sunday - lovely morning - you take in much more when you're walking and not driving.

It's strangely addictive - I never thought I'd say this when it comes to exercise.

A new footpath is being installed from my village to the common - I'll be using this for my regular walk and popping into the pub en-route for a refreshing lemonade :ccheers:.

Went to see the nurse yesterday and she was pleased with my results from my blood test:yes:
I told her about my armpit problem and she said that I might need to go and see one of the lady Drs for a check up and examination but have to wait until my results come back first.

Drove to the care home to see my FIL and he looked in a bad way, very frail looking now after the fall.We were there an hour and he slept for 59 of those minutes:old: I spotted four patches of blood on one of his curtains so on the way out we had to tell the careers so that could be sorted. When he went back to the care home after being released from hospital at 10.35pm that evening Mr Kandys sister spotted two towels that had been chucked over the mess that had been made on the carpet when he hit his head on the way to the toilet. She had to complain to the care home staff to get it cleaned up:yikes:I don't like this care home as three weeks ago they made us wait 8minutes before someone answered the door.If it was up to me I would move him but he seems settled and it isn't far from his daughters house so she can walk to see him.

Sorry Kandy about your FIL care in the "nursing home" I gather. They are not all alike. I am sure they have regulations to follow and surveys to meet which you should be able to access to find out how they have done.

Anyway, my days are just tucked away at work, working on reports or meetings, and interacting with staff to give guidance and instructions. At home, the new is freshening up my office with new paint, and clearing out junk/stuff. Taking things to good will or the trash or some folks that want stuff. Saturday still house stuff. Were are having our deck repainted and the garden room outside cider shingles repainted. Saturday night, off to a party, a mock horse race, with real betting and wonderful food and drinks included. Went last year, so much fun.

I'm at home recouperating today after gallbladder surgery on Wednesday. Have the new Amazon fire stick which could see me on the couch for the full recovery of next 8 weeks. My brother will be here on Sunday who will feed the birds so the fires tick will get a rest for a while. Homemade soup heating up so evening is shaping up to be a good one. Then we have the strictly ballroom on Saturday.

After my son left from this morning's visit, and a client appointment, and doing 4 loads of laundry, I shopped until I was ready to drop. I dislike shopping on the weekends and try to get everything in-house before friday evenings. Too bad I left it all until today.

Bought some felt to make Christmas stockings for my friends and some nice fabric to make caps for the jars of sauces and jellies I am making.

Visited my friend at the home and took a new beard trimmer (one of today's purchases). Been having trouble finding one that he will let the staff use on him so I hope this one does the trick. Also took lots more toiletries as well.

Kandy, in case you're wondering, this care home does not provide anything but the basics. It is a private place which I had to get everything from the electric bed, wheelchair, hoyer lift and then all the way down to facecloths and tissues and clothes hangers.

The food is all prepared from scratch, even pies and cakes, by a chef and his staff. They get aged cheddar slices and fresh fruits for snacks plus they can order a grilled sandwich or scrambled eggs and toast or a glass of wine, any time they want one. I've joined him for lunch there a few times and I very much enjoyed it.

But it costs about $7,500 of our dollars a month for him to stay there.

Took my grandson over to the video game store, did some raking.

And now sat here on my bum. It's very warm but raining outside and I'm not in the mood to get wet :)

My junior side-kick at work left today, which was a bit sad.

Went to the fireworks display after work. It was excellent. Very well organised. Obviously my two lads and the wife came. They thoroughly enjoyed it too. But one of the nephews came to, which was nice.

Now nephew has gone home, my kids are in bed, and the beer should be cold by now.

Oh, and I participated in a silly contest at the fireworks show. There was a pull up bar with a step, and a digital timer. You had to step up, then cling on, then the man would remove the steps and start the timer. If you lasted 2 minutes you'd get £20.

I lasted 43 seconds, which I was initially disappointed, until a lad about half my age and all muscle and no flab had a go. He lasted 1 minute and 1 second, so he beat me, but not by as much as he should have.

Mrs H and I went to the theatre in Manchester last night , to watch the Jersey Boys . Which is the story off Frankie Valli and the four seasons. I was only half looking forward to it to keep Mrs H happy , but what an incredible show :dbgrtmb: It follows their time line from forming in New Jersey, they were all petty criminals . Making their first record , tv appearances..... . The gangland debt one of them got into . Divorces and the sad loss of his daughter to drugs. The singing and period boy group dancing was perfect . The four guys in the lead rolls really earned their money. It ended with a two minute standing ovation - great show if you like this type of musical.
