I cant say that ours have done much this year - mainly the giants have put some growth (musifolia, russian red) on but the smaller varieties just havent established themselves much, soil temp has been rubbish.

I'll get some photos of mine over the next few days but they are generally doing well.

My altensteinii is about to flower at around 7ft tall and my other hybrid plants have been flowering for weeks, months in fact, really impressed with them.

On another note my local market plant stall was selling 3-4ft mixed cannas today for £1 each. So tempted as they were virus free healthy plants but I have so many already ;)

If its grown from seed, I think it can only be described as a Canna hybrid.
The flowers look too big to be a species.

Mine are still all outside, looking OK leaf wise, but the flowers are not opening fully - not enough sun for them.

I'm leaving mine alone too, however because of the very mild damp weather most of the flowers/unopened buds have spoiled and developed mould so I've removed them all to keep the spores down, I've also removed any damaged messy leaves, leaving the plants looking tidy until it goes colder

My altensteinnii plant is already fading by itself as it does every year, most of the leaves have turned a lovely golden yellow colour :) once it has I will cut it back by half but leave the rest on and pull it in to shelter as its in a very large pot ;)
