          1. The schizostylis I bought from Poets Cottage Nursery in North Yorkshire a couple of years ago is flowering quite nicely.

Plus, because of this crazy out of season mild weather, my rose "Madame Alfred Carriere" has started to flower again

Love the Schizostylis Armandii, very delicate. :) It's a bulb isn't it? I have problems with those as I forget where I plant them then dig them up by accident.

The rose is looking good to, I still have some in bloom but the wind tends to tear the heads off before they get a chance to open. My next garden is going to be sheltered! :)

Thanks for the info. :) The fact they are evergreen makes a difference but I musn't buy any more for this garden as I'm restricted on what I can move.....when it eventually happens.

Thanks Armandii, we'll have to sit tight and hope things start to shift next spring, the market is still hopeless here at the moment.

Thanks for letting me know what this is. I've got some massive Poplar stumps and they are smothered with the same stuff. The stumps are surrounded by a huge Laurel hedge, any idea if the fungus will eventually attack the hedge @Zigs? If it is an affirmative reply I'm not too sure if I could do anything about it as the stumps would need more than your average JCB to remove them!

Not an aggressive fungus, only lives on dead wood as far as I know :)

Took a few shots around our garden yesterday before I started to take some plants indoors in anticipation of the cold and wind to come. And here are some that I think still look reasonably nice :)

Nasturtium, Cobaea scandens, Ricinus and Parahebe are all still going strong.

This year it seems that my schizostylis has started to flower quite late. Most of them are still shooting out their flowering stem (not sure what the correct term is:scratch:), but a few have poked their flower heads above the nasturtium leaves.
