      Well, it's not all that long ago that our rivers, streams and canals were foaming and frothing with chemicals, pollution, raw sewage, from factories and civil authorities. There was a program on the renovation of the waterways in which cannon balls, horse carts, bikes, etc from way back when had been chucked in for whatever reason. The practice of chucking in Bins, shopping trolleys, prams, bikes, has been going on for generations...........it can't be just Kids. I've seen so called Grown ups pushing a shopping trolley full of shopping along streets miles away from a Supermarket.:dunno::wallbanging:

        Some of the supermarkets in the towns around here not only have the 'pound in the slot' but have an electronic barrier. If you try to take the trolley out of the grounds of the supermarket the wheels lock tight.

          Pity the trollies can't send a good doze of electricity to the "pusher" while they are at it:)

            We are booked to go to Sharm El Sheikh for a week after Christmas, Thomson holidays have said we can amend our booking FREE of charge BUT we can't have a refund yet. (I'm really short of time due to work commitments & I've not found another holiday destination which excites me/that we've not been to in the winter before, Long haul is really not an option due to jet lag & flight times & only having a week).
            I'm really annoyed because BA & Easy Jet have said they won't fly to Sharm until the new year & are giving refunds/alternative holidays, Im sure Thomdon will make the same decision, but I think it's rather ridiculous that all the airlines haven't made the same decision at the same time! can anyone tell me why this is?
            Rant over! :)

            @Beckie76

            Sorry to hear of your problem :sad: I'd keep phoning them each day.

            What type of holiday are you looking for?

            Here's a list but I'd take those average temperatures with a pinch of salt. If you pick a place and then look it up separately you'll get a better idea. I think that the higher temperatures can be reduced by a couple of degrees and the lower ones are more nearly correct.

              Thanks for your reply @shiney, we are looking for some sunshine & chill out time.
              Egypt has been perfect the last two years, we've found a great hotel & there's of course no jet lag!
              I will have a good look at the link you've sent me & have another search! :dbgrtmb:

                  Just a hint for you DIY people.

                  A friend of mine who is very much into DIY uses a magnetic wristband when doing work that requires lots of screws, nails drill bits. A brilliant idea

                        Phillips are very rare these days more likely to be a Pozidrive or slot head. Torx are mainly for automotive applications but slipping into some home jobs recently...........

                          Some of those don't seem to be much of an offense (others are). Unless a quick kiss is a euphemism for 'the beast with two backs' (Othello, Act 1, scene 1)
