    Aloha everyone,

@liliana It's good that your pleurisy has gone :blue thumb:. Take care of your chest :grphg: as these coughs can go on quite a while. Any problems, go straight to the doc.

I have that sort of problem nowadays! :lunapic 130165696578242 5:

On here a bit late today as I've had to deal with 17 emails from other countries where they don't have the decency to operate the same times as we do :heehee:

I've managed to get the renewal of our holiday insurance sorted out now :dbgrtmb:. I'm very pleased with the cost as it tends to go up quite a lot once you have started getting on in years. A lot of companies won't even insure you if you're over seventy. To cover us, worldwide for as many trips as we wish for a year, they're only charging us a total of £161.

They have sent all the documentation by email (all 34 pages!) so I asked them to send us a printed copy. Apparently, they don't do this but have kindly told us that they would print it as a booklet for us and send it to us. After some discrete enquiries (I'm just nosy) it turns out that they do have it as a booklet but they normally charge for it.

It looks a bit breezy out there but if it stays dry I shall start cutting back the lovely old-fashioned, single petalled, roses near our back door. They have a very strong scent :blue thumb: and produce enormous hips. The down side to them is that they are covered solidly in thorns every quarter of an inch up, and around, the stems. It's not too bad as long as I'm careful and they only cover an area of about 15ft by 4ft. It's enough to require a number of barrow trips to the bonfire. So that will give me some of my exercise (about a mile) :heehee:

Keep well and have a great day

    Aloha!

      Morning early people :)

Dull and drizzling here and I think I've got a cold coming on :yikes: Not had one for years.

Another cup of tea then off to plant some pampas grass :heehee:

Have a good day everyone and don't take my Kodachrome away :)

          Good Morning All,

Gosh it's a miserable day but I'm on form :hapfeet::hapydancsmil:!

Lots to do today at work.

Think I need a day off for some Christmas shopping! :thud: Maybe I should just do an online shop & get the lot sent to mother in laws! :heehee: They are always in.....they come in handy for the odd thing!! Lol :heehee:

Not a lot else to report.

I hope you are all well :blue thumb:

Big hugs to you all :grphg:

              Good day everyone

              Ta for the cuppa, Q

It's still dark here so I had to look up the weather forecast to see if it is nasty or nice out. We're forecast a blustery day with some sun. I'll take sun no matter what the temps!

The other day I lifted two of my industrial sewing machines onto movers dollies and since the lightest one is around 5 stone, I did a little bit of muscle stretching. It super to be able to roll the machines out now to clean the floor. Well worth the temporary pain. My back is still a little achy but not enough to stop me getting my chores done.

              Hugs to all.

                  Good Morning My Friends,

I hope you are all well?

My brother & his girlfriend rang last night to say they had been for a scan at the hospital, they are expecting a boy, this is perfect as I already have a niece :blue thumb: they are both very pleased with the news.

It's so dark here this morning, the house feels a bit chilly so I'm guessing we are in for a chilly day.

I finished putting the Christmas decorations up last night, the house is looking very festive! I just have the Christmas cake to marzipan & ice....I need to find the cake decorations (I have the old fashioned plastic ones, you can't beat tradition!)

                  Enjoy your day folks :grphg:

                    Good morning all,
Lori sounds as though you could have done yourself a mischief moving such a machine! I take it this is your livelihood and wish you well.
Beckie, glad all your decs are up now and well done on doing a cake too. You lead such a busy life I wonder you find the time.
Shiney, glad you have managed to sort your insurance out to fit your next years itinery not sure you shouldn't clear it with some of us but for obvious reasons understand why. Gives us something to look forward to hearing about! (Some of us lead such boring lives, I speak about myself obviously)
Have a good day everyone, stay dry and warm and above all safe and well, God bless. :wub2:

                    Weekend again, can't believe it:

Morning all, hope you are all well.

Had a bit of a lie in this morning. We have a robin who sits in the tree outside our bedroom window and sings beautifully every morning before it gets light. I quite enjoyed lying there at six o'clock this morning listening to it. Pity about the lorry turning up to empty all the trade bins across the road at the same time, sounded like someone having a session on a large drum kit, but hey-ho. It didn't stop my little feathered friend anyway. :)

Doesn't look much like a gardening day, so a bit of this and that - present wrapping, sorting out paperwork and so on. Mrs Trunky wants to put the tree and decorations up too, will do my best to avoid that if possible.

                        Aloha everyone,

Is two enough? I kept spilling my tea!

I got the roses done and Sarafi helped me. He made sure that I rested a lot by insisting on being stroked in between each branch being cut. :cat-kittyandsmiley:

There's a bigger job to be done with the rambling roses at the bottom of the garden. This is where our not nice neighbour would not let me support them on the fence. I put in 3" diameter posts with wire stretched between them and they have been happy with that for some years. Unfortunately, one of the posts must have broken in the winds - only just spotted it . This will be a job for Michael when he returns from the South Pacific (went to a friends wedding early November and seems to still be there, fishing - or arrested as a vagrant).

More repairs needed for the bird feeder - Nuts :heehee:

Dull here again but not cold :phew:

Speaking of which, after some coughing, sneezing and spluttering yesterday I was fine, wasn't a cold at all, must have breathed something in I was allergic to :phew:

Todays plan is to get Christmas cards sorted, do the washing and tidy up, I do tend to get totally immersed in a project and neglect other things

                            Good day eveyone

ta for the cuppa, Q :coffee:

:yikes::yikes::yikes: oh no, Zigs you just reminded me that I not only have my cards to get sorted but also those of my friend who had that stroke last year. Guess I'll start those when I've finished today's cookie baking.

Yes Moyra, I make custom drapery and other soft home furnishings for my business. I have several machines and the two bigger industrial machines are quite heavy. The repair guy, Gus, told me that one of the machines is about 75 years old. Unfortunately Gus died a few years ago so now I had to learn to repair them myself.

slight pause here, the temperature alarm for the larger greenhouse started blasting so had to go down and fire up the heater again...

Have a wonderful rest of the day everyone !
