    Hiya!
So, brilliant news, I have an allotment! It all happened very quickly and I now have access. I'm going to start from scratch across all of it. But at one end there are lots of Raspberry canes from the previous tenant.

They look fairly established and have been pruned before. I think I am best leaving them in?

My main question is, because I don't know if they are summer or autumn fruiting varieties, am I best pruning them this winter regardless? I think I probably am, and risking no fruit if summer fruiting, until a year later.

    Any advice welcome!

    Jack

      Hi Jack,

Fantastic news about the allotment :hapfeet:

As for the raspberry canes I think I'd prune half now & leave half until the spring That way you will be certain to get some fruit! :dbgrtmb:
      I hope that helps.

Best of luck with the allotment & I shall very much look forward to hearing more about it

That sounds like a much more sensible idea, thank you Beckie :)

I know I should really have weeded dug it all over and mulched before January, but I think I will just have to go with it this winter, avoiding the really bad weather.

I have no doubt in my mind that you will have the digging, weeding & mulching done real soon :blue thumb:
