We have had dry weather today which was nice for once so went off for a six mile walk alongside Ladybowers Resorvoir(sp).Loads of people around because it is still a holiday for a lot of people and can't believe the size of the tyres on the mountain bikes these days, they look like tractor wheels they are that big:snork:

We have battened down the hatches as Storm Frank (my late father in law would have been pleased that they named one after him:biggrin:) We just hope that many of the homes, farms and buisnesses that got caught out over Christmas miss the next lot of wind and rain

    Look after yourselves everyone:smile:

After a sunny morning the weather has gradually turned sour again. The wind has been picking up since 5pm and the rain has just started. 9C/48F. We're on a red warning overnight with wind gusts expected to reach 70mph, also coastal flooding and I suspect rivers too. It's not unusual for the island to experience these high winds during the winter months but the accompanied flooding has been a problem in more recent years.

A lovely day in Northampton today :)
I thought it was a bit chilly in town, but my button had popped off my trousers and caused a problem

The skies have been blue with very little clouds, a light cool breeze with a top temperature of 50f nearly all day. The winds have been strengthening in the last two hours but it is still dry. The forecast for Cheshire is strengthening winds and heavy rain during the night. This time I don't mind the oncoming rain as I have dried out the inside of the Observatory over the last couple of rain free days and have used some expensive hi-tech sealants to seal, hopefully, the inside from water ingress. The truth will out tomorrow morning when I look inside to see if it is still dry:dunno::heehee:

Yesterday was clear and sunny (some of the time) but the temperature dropped to 43.4F

By 3 a.m. the temperature had risen to 50.7F and is now 52.2F. We have rain forecast for this evening but very heavy rain on Sunday afternoon when we have 20 people coming :hate-shocked:

After a dry sunny morning is just started to rain.
                      Pretty windy now also.

It is cloudy. Again... We had a short break from damp and chilly by receiving snow and cold winds. Now we're back to damp chilly and dark.

:gaah: looks like this is going to carry on for he foreseeable future.

No rain today and a glimpse of sunshine. Also another severe gale after having gone through it yesterday. 12C/54F. There was a certain amount of flooding and we've lost a number of trees.

Over the pond my daughter experienced an earthquake for the first time in the Vancouver area of Canada, it measured 4.8.

                            I hope everyone is okay.

California seems to get lots of shakes and quakes so with Vancouver being just up the coast, they are bound to get a little action too.

My daughter is fine thanks Lori apart from the scary experience. Her other half is currently here in England answering a family emergency, so she was on her own apart from her neighbours.

Yes, I seem to remember that there is a huge fault that runs up that coast through Seattle and on to Vancouver.
