Being in your mid 20's and being charged senior citizens rate for a haircut, because (in her words) 'She didn't have to do much'

 

On the way into our martial arts class tonight, I saw two of the younger students arriving, wearing them newfangled roller shoe things. You know the ones, they look like casual shoes but have wheels in the heels, so the the skilled wearer can both walk semi normally, or skate on their heels.

I caught my self thinking, in my day, there were nowt like that, if we wanted to skate, we had to have massive chunky roller boots. Then I realised two things at once. Firstly, I was fascinated with some newfangled thing that the kids of today have that my generation didn't have, and 2, while I was fascinated, I was most certainly not envious, because I'm past rolling around on skates and such. Yes, I'm too old for that caper
