Well, I've connected all three RCD double sockets in the Observatory, which is a great step forward. I can now work in the Observatory with the lights on with permanent, and safe, electrical power and the door shut to keep out the inevitable rain. My friend, the Electrician, has given the work the thumbs up and reckons I've put more safeguards in the power system than he would have done:heehee:
I'll start work on the rubber floor tiles tomorrow, cutting them to shape but it's amazing how long it takes to make a template correctly, mark out the tiles and cut them into the correct shape. I've got at least 8 to cut so we'll see how it goes. Using a Grinder to cut into the shape of the template into the rubber causes a lot of black smoke and the smell is the same as burning tires:hate-shocked: I might also find time to fit the red LED lights around the inside of the Observatory if I'm lucky:coffee:

Red light is regarded as being in the part of the spectrum that doesn't make you lose your dark sight, Sheal:dunno::heehee:

Well, here's some pics of what's been happening and the work I've been doing in the Observatory.

As you know, I had trouble with rain water seeping under the walls of the Observatory due to the fact that the guys installing it couldn't seal the base due to it raining and the sealant they were using wouldn't grip or cure in the wet. So I had to search for some hi-tech sealant mastic and sealant paint that would do the job even when applied in the wet. So what you see here is the mastic injected under the flange at the base which when it had cured I painted over with the sealant paint.

Once I knew that the sealant had worked and no water was coming into the Observatory I put down the Visqueen plastic membrane as a precaution to stop any dampness from the concrete base.

Once I'd cut and trimmed the Visqueen to shape I then put in some rubber floor tiles to help me decide exactly where the Power Board should go.

Then I put the Power Board in without connecting it up to the armoured cables to check if it was correctly placed.

After that it was a matter of fitting the rest of the 1 metre square rubber floor tiles and cutting the outer tiles to shape.:phew::coffee:
