We're only 12 miles south of Perth which currently is flooding quite badly in places. The Tay is the highest it has been since terrible flooding in 1993 and since the flood defences were built. The defences are helping matters but some houses have flooded despite them. Horse's field shelter is now resembling a swimming pool and yup it's still raining.:gaah:This is the wettest I can ever remember and looking at the forecast it doesn't look as tho it's going to dry up any time soon. Grim doesn't quite describe the weather or everybody's mood!

Quiet, occasional sunny spells and a slight chill to the breeze - not bad for the time of year though

Overcast 8c and windless much of the day, quite pleasant for this time of year, just started raining. Supposed to get near zero Wednesday night.

No, no, no ... that was Incy Wincy Spider

Well! What a day its been (weather-wise) here: very dark this morning, could have mistaken it for night, and then the heavens opened ... it bucketed down!!!! On and on and on and on and on. It did take a break for a brief moment or three, but that was so the hailstones could have a go too. Ozzy was denied a walk and he really wasn't bothered so we played games indoors instead.

Sounds quiet outside the window, so I'm hoping (:fingers crossed:) that it stays calm as I'm driving over to pick up son from the station where he has to change trains and its a good 20 minute walk between the two stations (I can be there in that same time and have him home sooner).

The good news is: there won't be a drought this summer. ;)

They got it wrong. :nonofinger: It's the weather here .

No, no, they pinched that from the story about the Bleedin' Sparrer.

I used to do that as part of my Cockney routine. (That poem and Baiby 'As Gorn Darn The Plug'ole were the two most popular ones)

First verse:- (there are another five verses)

We ‘ad a bleedin’ sparrer wot
                  Lived up a bleedin’ spaht
One day the bleedin’ rain came dahn
                  An’ washed the bleeder aht.

                      The full poem is:-

We ‘ad a bleedin’ sparrer wot
                      Lived up a bleedin’ spaht
One day the bleedin’ rain came dahn
                      An’ washed the bleeder aht.

An’ as 'e layed ‘arf drahnded
                      Dahn in the bleedin’ street
                      ‘E begged that bleedin’ rainstorm
                      To bave ‘is bleedin’ feet.

But then the bleedin’ sun came aht
                      Dried up the bleedin’ rain
                      So that bleedin’ little sparrer
‘E climbs up ‘is spaht again.

But, Oh! - the cruel sparrer ‘awk
‘E spies ‘im in ‘is snuggery
‘E sharpens up ‘is bleedin’ claws
An’ rips ‘im aht, by thuggery.

Jist then a bleedin’ sportin’ type
                      Wot ‘ad a bleedin’ gun
‘E spots that bleedin’ sparrer ‘awk
                      An’ blasts ‘is bleedin’ fun.

                      The moral of the story
                      Is plain to everyone...
That them wot’s up the bleedin’ spaht
                      Don’t get no bleedin’ fun.

I hope all is okay with you Silu, I think we're paying for the Indian summer we had.

We had about an hours sunshine here late morning then gradually slipped back into gloom and drizzle. 9C/48F.

Thanks for your concern @Sheal. We personally are in no danger of flooding but there are many around who aren't so lucky. The main road is impassable due to the burn that runs past us flooding across the road. Photo is of the "little" burn which doesn't look anything like this atm as way higher and running like the clappers! Luckily we have another road we can use to get around otherwise we'd be stuck unless we had a boat!
I just wonder how long it will be before the land has a chance to dry up a bit. These last 3 days here have been much worse than what storm Frank afforded us. As long as our animals are coping then everything else isn't such a big deal, just extremely tedious. driveway 004.JPG
