Has anyone else booked their 2016 holidays yet?
Northern Cyprus (Turkish part) in August for us. Small adult only hotel in Kyrenia for 11 days. We went there about 8 years ago so it might have changed a bit. Could be around 40c so we will no doubt wilt!

      Yes. :blue thumb:

As most of the regulars on here know, when I retired the idea was to do the travelling that we hadn't had time for when we were working. We're fortunate that our many hobbies cost very little, we don't drink or smoke and have few expenses apart from holidays.

We decided to do most of our far away travelling whilst we were able to take the travelling and nowadays we have cut that part down a bit. :old:

We already have four holidays booked for this year. Our two usual one week breaks to the Lake District (B&B), a 10 day tour through Europe taking in Munich, Salzburg, Vienna, Budapest and a few other places and a two week far away tour of North India and Bhutan (mainly all in the Himalayas). Towards the end of the year we may also do another of our cheapo cultural tours of Turkey (8 days, 4/5 star hotels B&B, flights, transport and tours for £149 p.p. - full board and other tours doubles the price but still cheap).

We usually like Turkey for a June holiday , but this year we are going to Tenerife in June and October.
We also go camping two or three times a year with Molly . We thought this May to get rid of the chore of pitching camp , we would try a Pod. We are going near Silverdale on Morecambe bay in these little hobbit like dwellings. You just supply your bed, bedding and cooking equipment . looks like fun :dbgrtmb:

Seen those when we've stayed at Blue Anchor Bay, Somerset

But we have a 5 berth tent with large living/cooking area, plus a big porch extension, together with everything else to make camping comfortable, and have a car big enough to take everything including Dog.

Those Somerset pods are on a dog friendly caravan site where late season bookings can be had very cheaply, approx. £100, so we're going with their caravans, or campsites we've been going to for many years, a couple close to the beach in Dorset, the other on the edge of Exmoor.

'Sun Holidays' for 4 x £9.50 plus some other charges started today, will probably also book a few of those (got 3 priority codes from previous multiple bookings) http://club950.co.uk/?CMP=KNG-£9.50_Holidays_Exact-msix-£9.50_Holidays_Exact_PPC-9.5&pc=950janqrtr16

Off to Somerset for a few days in just over a week.

All being well if there are no problems this year we are planning to visit with our caravan:smile:

May.... Wharfedale for Mr Kandys 65th Birthday:old:.(He chose this one:snork:)

August...Isle of Wight for Cowes week for my 60th.(I chose this one as I have I always wanted to go for Cowes week to see the big toy boats:snork:)It has only taken me about fifteen years to get Mr Kandy to go at this time of the year as he hates going when the kids are on holiday and it is an expensive time but as neither of us drink, smoke, play bingo, play the lottery, meals out every week, buy expensive shoes/handbags or dye our hair at some ridiculous price then the am sure we can afford one expensive holiday once In a while  We shall be staying as usual in Newchurch and will no doubt visit the Pointer Inn for a few nice meals, well one especially:snork:

              December...Somerset:smile:

All above holidays are already booked and the August one has the ferry booked and deposit paid so we are going no matter what:yes: We looked on 2015 as our annus horribilous so it is onwards and upwards and best feet forwards so to speak,oh and as a lot of bloggers are doing the 1,000 mile walk in a year challenge we shall have to do lots of walking as we haven't had a chance to start yet due to the rotten weather we have at the moment:sad:

We're just staying in the UK again. We're going to make it up as we go along, with a night or two in one place, then a night or two somewhere else. Probably do a week or a bit longer. The only two bits that are pretty much planned are Portsmouth/I oW, and somewhere a bit further west.

Is that why you're planning a sky dive? You do know that planes are allowed to land here don't you? We have a few serviceable airports here:)

I've booked two weeks in Scotland again, this time Mr. S and I are scouting Argyll although we already know it fairly well, it's definitely our future destination. :) Ermmm.....but on the other hand I'm not so sure about that actually, :doh:Ullapool has this habit of creeping into our conversations. :)
