Well I miss Cowheel/Calf's foot, Honeycomb or Blanket Tripe, and most everything else from the Offal shop, They just do not sell it up here, or even as far South as Sunderland

The real Black Pudding too with the squares of pork fat in it

    Think I will flit South

Now come on everyone! You forgot the birthday jellies! :heehee: As a youngster my birthdays never passed without jelly bunnies. I've carried the tradition on with my grandchildren. :)

Funnily enough ... I did have a moment with Poor Man's Pate over the holiday season (and avoided the "ingredients" list like the plague! :th scifD36: ) but only because it reminded me of the Christmas parties we had at Infants school

Certainly enjoyed hearing all the things that delight your souls. many of which, have never had. BTW Jellies are Jell-O here in America.
Well, can say, have no cravings, do have one "comfort" food, that I can make when needed. But aside from that, nothing is drawing my heart strings to way back home, a dish from good Mom. I do miss my favorite Jewish Deli back in Ohio, have yet to find one that comes even close. So from time to time I will ship something over.

Wait, got it, it just came to me, really would love a truly original Chocolate Malt Shake, totally thick, creamy, the extra served in a silver tin, and the shake glass tall and lean. Sitting at the soda fountain. Yep. Its hard to find them anymore.

                  Thank you :)

I do find it a fascinating point of social history that, in the UK, we tend to be more au fait with US terms than the US are with UK terms :heehee:
In the main, we are all too familiar with "Americanisms" in much of our daily life, yet, my personal experiences in America give the impression of a nation unfamiliar/reluctant to grasp UK terminology :heehee: Which has a sadness about it in the context that languages have a root form and it is up to the newer users of a particular language to understand the root structure of that language in order to make true sense of it.
But, I also admit, I'm a pedant :heehee: And that the English language has such a rich and varied origin, from a multi-cultural aspect, that some of its grammatical rules would bamboozle and flummox quite a few; let alone the common man!

my favorite comfort food goes back to when I was about 5 years old. My mom had gone to the hospital to deliver my bother. Was staying with my favorite Aunt. I must have been missing them so much. For some reason my Aunt made me simple elbow mac with cream cheese and butter (but it is a certain brand of pasta) and she served me it. That dish did the trick, made me feel better and to this day that simple dish is my comfort. Was it the actual food or was it the nurturing from my favorite Aunt that went with it?

Do they have those little plastic pouches with vinegar in them at your take aways? Maybe those could be posted?

They certainly could be snuck in a lot easier.... Not seen any for quite a while though.

It really is quite silly the nonsense that is around some things, particularly with the Post Office. I have just had a delivery, by courier, of a replacement lithium ion battery for my old iPod Classic; the packaging has a large warning label stuck to it warning of impending doom should the packaging be damaged, even giving a global telephone number to call should anything happen.

Now I am well aware of the dangers of Lithium ion and lithium polymer batteries - indeed I may well have more insight than the average man in the street due to my prior jobs, but even I find this to be something of an over-reaction. Especially when you bear in mind that this battery is going to go into something that is then going to be charged, and carried in my trouser pocket.....

@fat controller - as a matter of interest are you sure all liquids are banned by RM? I did have a quick search and found the obvious prohibitions around alcohol, toxic liquids, vaccines etc, but couldn't find anything about food items. Could have just missed it though as am feeling a bit under the weather.

                                Cheers
