Could this latest move by Denmark only add to migrants travelling to the UK?

    They are still people though.

Which brings me back to a point I was trying to make earlier. About the extreme left pushing normal people right.

It seems to me that it is not the asylum seekers that are complaining about being asked to wear wristbands for free food, or being housed behind red doors. It seems it is mostly the interfering do gooders that are spouting off.

It seems to me that the problem is actually the people attacking other people who live behind red front doors or those who wear wristbands, not the door painters nor free food distributors.

The migrants/asylum seekers that I saw with my own eyes were a family of four. Mom, Dad, teenaged daughter and son. I felt no animosity toward them but was a little upset at being pushed back behind them in the waiting room. I imagine, given the choice, they would rather have waited their turn instead of being pushed up front and made very visible.

My feeling is that governments are just so inefficient with immigration files in the first place, that they are doomed to fail at properly vetting anyone coming in during these massive influxes.

By the way, I was most interested in the literacy test that will be implemented to determine a newcomer's willingness to integrate. Most interested....:)

To integrate means to combine one thing with another to make a whole. In the US with the Hispanics and the Muslims this is NOT the case. And from what I am reading it is not the case there either. What they want is to not combine, to be seperate with their own cultures, languages and laws. This is not integration, this is invasion.

The literacy tests are going to be largely directed at the wives because they apparently have not been encouraged to learn their host country's language. Segregating their spouses from regular contact or outside influences strips these women of any means of independence and or means of getting aid. It is subjugation. Very upsetting...

I have seen it here. Not just with Muslims but also in other backgrounds. An isolated wife is an obedient wife....:mute:

And that is the whole history of the human race through time immemorial.

So, shouldn't we look to the past and find where huge mistakes were made ... learn from them and move forward accordingly?

There are a good number of migrants who arrive with no papers, no ID and, for reasons of their own, will give false information. So, I think it is fairer to acknowledge it could be due to failures on both sides.

If I was Muslim, Hispanic, African American or anything else that stood out in the US, I wouldn't try to integrate. I'd be too fearful of discrimination. Even the top man has been openly picked on for his skin colour alone.

Here in the UK, the vast majority of Muslims that live here integrate perfectly fine. They speak good English, do an honest job to earn an honest living, make friends with people regardless of colour or creed etc.

Of course there are always some that do not integrate well. Perhaps some don't want to (is that any different from the British ex pat invasion of Spain and Portugal?), some perhaps want to integrate but are not sure how to or simply lack confidence.

Then there's a tiny, tiny minority that are blatantly bad. But just as the ku klux klan doesn't represent the general population of the US (most of whom by the way are descended from British and Irish 'invaders'), and the EDL is not representative of the general population of the UK, so the vocal minority bad immigrants are not representative of all of their skin colour, religious belief or ethnicity.

Clueless - I couldn't have put it better myself. Spot on :dbgrtmb:

@chuck - please don't think that I'm being confrontational as that is not my intention. I have to ask though, have you ever met a Muslim, talked to them or spent any time with them? Trust me, they're not a different species, they don't bite and the majority do not wish to kill us. They do integrate - yes they wish to practise their religion but it is no more evil than any of the other Abrahamic faiths. Yes Muslims will socialise within their own communities at times and live relatively close to one another but that is no different to all other sections of society.

Jeez, if that was a prerequisite of remaining in the UK we would be shipping out half of our British born UK citizens!

Well, we haven't in the past, "M", as History as proven. What we do get is Politicians, after some crisis or mistake has happened, saying "We will learn from this situation and mistake" endlessly only to find them saying it yet again a couple of years later.

                        Plus all the contrasting quotes:

We learn from history that we learn nothing from history."
                        George Bernard Shaw

"Those that fail to learn from history, are doomed to repeat it."
                        Winston Churchill

As can be seen in this thread there are views and opinions that conflict because of many reasons.
History can, in fact, be part of the problem. If you take into account recent history, say over the last 50 years, with the constant Middle East conflicts, the rise in international terrorism, the clash of religious beliefs and cultures as international travel and communications became easy, the opening of most of Europe with the Schengen agreement, and the misuse, misinterpretation, abuse, and over use of Political correctness then you have a "Witches Brew" that feeds peoples views and fears.:dunno::coffee:

He's also been accused of not being an American and also of being a Muslim. But people who fear changes or loss of their own personal power will say anything in attacks........you have only got to watch Fox News to see rabble rousing, misrepresentations, insults and libelous words........all in the name of "Freedom".
